Earlier this year, Lionsgate made clear that they were already “actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities” for 'The Hunger Games' —because no studio will never let a proven brand die these days. And now, a couple of weeks after "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" has seemingly put an end to Katniss Everdeen's story, the studio reveals they have no intention of leaving the Capitol. Read More: Review: 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutchinson & More Speaking at the Ubs Global Media and Communications Conference in New York, Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns made it plain about the "The Hunger Games," saying it will "live on and on and on." Great! So what will be the uncovered backstories that will be carefully explored in the prequels? Well.... "The one thing that kids say they missed [from the early.

Sometimes the internet conjures up something that immediately provokes you to rise to your feet and clap in appreciation. Most of the time it involves a cat being a dick. But on this rare occasion, one nifty YouTube video has decided to riff on the rather ridiculous name of Josh Hutchinson.s character in The Hunger Games franchise to depict Jennifer Lawrence.s Katniss Everdeen repeatedly, and loudly, declaring her love for pita, not Peeta. It.s stupid. It.s ridiculous. It.s also really, really funny. Well played, internet. Well played, indeed. For some inexplicable reason, especially since the video is basically just the same joke being told over and over and over again, the gag just gets funnier with each passing cut. Maybe it.s just because the world loves Jennifer Lawrence so damn much, and everything that.s even remotely connected to her instantly manages to go...

Chicago – This has to be what the filmmakers intended when they split the final book of the “Hunger Games” series into two films. While “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1” was all set up, Part 2 doesn’t just lead up to a huge climax.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
It’s all climax in a campaign that barely stops to breathe. When the characters aren’t running for their lives they’re engaged in a passionless love triangle. It’s all brooding conversations in darkness, and booby traps as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) marches on the Capitol to stick an arrow through President Snow’s (Donald Sutherland) heart.
This series is no one’s idea of great filmmaking, but they do have enough resources and tools at their disposal to elevate them above the usual Young Adult franchises. Gone are the social and political commentaries and the fantastical world of the capitol filled with extravagent excess.

One of the most highly-anticipated presentations at the 2015 Comic-Con was for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” and it didn’t disappoint. Introduced by a heart-stopping drum beat, the panel included the film’s stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, director Francis Lawrence and was moderated by Conan O’Brien. (As an aside, if you haven’t seen O’Brien’s ode to “Mad Max,” you really should.) This will be the last installment of the highly popular and profitable series, which has a worldwide gross of more than $2 billion. In it, Katniss and her crew will head out on one final mission that could determine the fate for millions. Her elevation to new heights is hinted at in the newly-released teaser trailer. While the action series is very intense, Lawrence and her co-stars brought laughs and levity to the panel. Here’s some of the funnier moments from...

There are a number of Game of Thrones characters who would probably do pretty well in the Hunger Games arena, but it's hard to imagine that many would do better than Brienne of Tarth, the hardcore warrior woman played by Gwendoline Christie. We may never get to see exactly how that situation would play itself out, but at the very least we will now what it's like to see Christie inside the sci-fi universe. Deadline is reporting that the actress has signed a deal with the folks at Lionsgate that will see her replace Lily Rabe in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2. In the film, Christie will be playing Commander Lyme, a military leader out of District 2 and former Hunger Games victor who joins Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta (Josh Hutchinson) and the rest of the rebellion against President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and the leaders of Panem.

The first Hunger Games arrived surrounded by a choking cloud of hype, the novels on which it was based bringing a ready made fan base, while the studios were pushing it to replicate the success of fellow book to movie graduate, Twilight. But it managed to live up to the hype, delivering a solid and entertaining movie, quite a bit darker than most teen lit adaptions, with a fantastic performance from Jennifer Lawrence leading the charge. Now we have the second installment, Catching Fire, with Francis Lawrence replacing Gary Ross at the helm. So, does it live up to the original? After defying the rules, and becoming the first ever double winners of The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutchinson) have unwittingly sown the seeds of revolution within the twelve sectors of futuristic dictatorship Panem. With the Quarter Quell, the 75th anniversary of the games and...

"Her entire species must be eradicated"
A new teaser has been released for the second installment of The Hunger Games franchise. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, starring Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and helmed by new director Francis Lawrence continues the story set in a dystopian world where young adults are forced to take part in a deadly TV game. From the looks of the trailer emotional stakes are raised with Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutchinson) being paraded on their victory tour. Katniss is forced to choose between her own safety and the safety of the ones she loves. It also looks like there will be a bit more Katniss/ Gale drama than the first and shows how far President Snow (Donal Sutherland), with the help of Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) will go to destroy Katniss' image of hope. The dark, dystopian feel sets up the movie to be...

This August, Sam Claflin officially beat out every other young actor in Hollywood to score the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Now, with filming nearing completion, the 26-year-old has opened up for the first time about the cool character, his physical preparation and hopes for the cinematic sequel!
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Claflin says that it took him a hot minute after landing the role to feel like Finnick. "They decided to go with me as opposed to any of the other young, hot, good-looking actors out there," he laughs. "I have a tan and a six-pack now after four months of hard work. I feel slowly but surely like I am Finnick Odair."

Earlier today we published our brief interviews with Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutchinson at last night’s Hunger Games premiere. During the evening we also managed to have a much longer chat with the film’s producer Nina Jacobson. With pundits and experts alike predicting a massive opening for the film – possibly in the $150 million in the Us alone, it was a great opportunity to find out how she’s reacting.
We also took the chance to speak to her about the minor cuts made to the UK version of the film to qualify for a 12A release, and whether it was the right thing to do creatively, rather than just financially.
On the predicted success of the film
“I’m still marvelling at it. I’m just so thrilled that so many people are so excited to see an adaptation of a book I love so much, and that...

Vanity Fair has jumped on the Hunger Games bandwagon. The November issue boast interviews with Jennifer Lawrence and a very adorable photo spread on the cast.
Check out some great new posters from The Hunger Games.
Here are the district seals.
In the interview, Jennifer Lawrence thinks that fans of the book will "absolutely" be satisfied with the film adaptation. She also disagrees with the comparisons that Hunger Games is getting to the Twilight series. "Hunger Games is not Twilight, and while I hear the comparisons, it's really premature to say that it will be the same phenomenon. I'm so proud of the work we did on the film—Gary and the entire cast and crew were amazing, and I can't wait for it to be brought to life because I think it's an important story."
Let's take a look at some of the photos, shall we?

Here are some amazing new posters for the highly anticipated Hunger Games. We have seen photos of the gang on set, some pictures of Katniss, Gale and Peeta and the twelfth district. We've seen the district seals. We haven't seen good photos of Lenny Kravtiz as Cinna, Elizabeth Banks as Effie, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, or any of the other districts.
Until now!

We're all pretty excited for this in the office. Almost all of us has read the books and are over the moon that the movie is coming out soon. Well, March of next year may not be that soon, but it's better than waiting for The Dark Knight Rises or Superman: Man of Steel or any other highly antcipated movie. For the record- I'm team Peeta.
