The first Norwegian to produce a Hollywood-production: 1996's "Head Above Water" with Cameron Diaz and Harvey Keitel.
Is regarded as the most successful producer in Norwegian film history.

Terry Jones
is one of his friends (they got to know each other after Jacobsen started importing Monty Python-movies to Norway).
Made Commander of the Order of St.Olav by the King of Norway in 2008 for his work on behalf of the Norwegian Film Industry.
Awarded an Honorary Aamot Award by the Norwegian Film and Cinema Association 1988.
Awarded on Honorary Golden Film Reel by the Norwegian Cinema Managers Association in 1998.
Awarded lifetime Achievment Award by CIFEJ - Centre International de Film Pour l'Enfance et la Jeunesse in 2002.
