Was awarded the Aristeion Prize in 1992 for significant contributions to contemporary literature and exceptional translations of contemporary literature for his translation of James Joyce's 'Ulysses' into Greek.
In the 1960's Robert Altman planned to do a film in Greece and wanted Sokrates Kapsaskis to be his assistant director, but when U.S. President John Kennedy was assassinated the film fell through.
