It looks like Martin Scorsese is prepping a new project, and no, it doesn’t star Vinnie Chase. The film is called Falcon’s Tale and was spotted by the folks over at Cinema Blend in the latest issue of Production Weekly. The industry magazine describes the film: “A career criminal is sent inside a high security, mental institution to discover the whereabouts of a serial killers victims.” That doesn’t tell us too much, but Peter over at Slash Film was able to find some more info. The project apparently started as a story James Keene and author/reporter Hillel Levin sold to Playboy. It was acquired by Paramount last year. A more detailed outline thanks to Slash Film: “James Keene was serving a 10-year-to-life sentence as a convicted drug dealer when the FBI came to him with an amazing offer. They wanted him to enter a high-security prison...

I totally missed this item in the latest issue of Production Weekly, but Alex from FirstShowing sent me a link to this story on Cinemablend about a project called Falcon’s Tale that Martin Scorsese is supposedly attached to direct. What is this movie? A quick internet search turns up Nothing. But I decided to dig a little deeper and have come upon more information about the project. James Keene and author/reporter Hillel Levin sold a one-page description of this story to Playboy and to Paramount / Gk Films (the production company behind Edge of Darkness) in a seven-figure film deal in November 2007. The article, titled “The Strange Redemption of [...]...

Todd Field is in talks to direct Paramount Vantage’s crime drama “Buried,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The trade says Brad Ingelsby will write the project, which centers on a couple who have to deal with a change in their relationship after they commit a crime.
Originally, the story is based on an article written by James Keene and Hillel Levin.
Field’s directorial credits include “In the Bedroom” and “Little Children.” He is also gearing up to helm “Blood Meridian.”
As for Ingelsby, THR says he’s all set to pen “Sleeper” for Sam Raimi while he’s still in talks to write “The Low Dweller” for Ridley Scott.
Final word: We may not know much about the plot at this stage, but with Field on board to direct this thing, get ready for a thought-provoking character study.

Paramount Vantage has bought its first project of the Guy Stodel era, signing on for the crime drama "Buried," with Todd Field attached to direct.
Brad Ingelsby will write the screenplay, which centers on a couple who are forced to cope with the fallout on their relationship after they commit a crime. Alexandra Milchan is on board to produce the picture along with Field.
The story, which also contains elements of dark comedy, is based on an article written by Hillel Levin and James Keene. The duo had previously set up an untitled undercover-prison drama at Paramount based on Keene's life.
The William Morris-repped Ingelsby has been busy of late; the scribe, who is already attached to Ridley Scott's "The Low Dweller," signed on last week for Sam Raimi's "Sleeper." Field is on board to direct the Cormac McCarthy adaptation "Blood Meridian" for Scott Rudin.

- Paramount Vantage’s Guy Stodel has finally broken the ice and made his first pick up as the key decision maker and according to The Hollywood Reporter, he has managed to attach helmer (why does he make us wait so long between his films?) Todd Field and one of the hottest rookie scribes in the business in Brad Ingelsby has signed on to pen Buried. Based on an article written by Hillel Levin and James Keene, this centers on a couple who, in a bid for cash, bury a wealthy man alive only to be caught and then forced to cope with the fallout on their relationship. My preliminary research into finding this article via the www. amounted to nothing, but one of these days I’ll try researching where it has been published via the University library system.
