Over a month has passed since Dirtybird Records’ chief export Justin Martin released his sophomore album Hello Clouds, and dance music tastemakers are still singing its praises. It’s even resonated with the sophisticated tastes of those across the pond, as BBC Radio 1 enlisted the San Fransisco DJ/producer for an installment of their After Hours Mix series.
Justin Martin’s After Hours Mix originally aired on Pete Tong’s radio show on April 22nd. The track list features songs from the likes of Maribou State, Adana Twins and Billy Kenny, and closes out with the last two titles from Hello Clouds.
As with much of his mixes and productions, Justin Martin’s After Hours Mix combines the ghettotech grit of other Dirtybird releases with distinct, tasteful melody. Being that he’s no stranger to experimenting with electronic music styles outside of house and techno, he’s used to riding...

Jauz has seen a truly meteoric career trajectory so far in 2016. The “Feel The Volume” producer kicked off The Friendzy Tour with a mind-boggling back-to-back set that featured more bass music titans than seemed necessary or reasonable, and he’s punctuated several of his stops with debuts of new tracks.
Even a month after the his tour has drawn to a close, though, the bass house pioneer doesn’t appear ready to slow down. In a mix he put together for Australian radio show Triple J, he included more unreleased IDs than the average DJ/producer can boast in their entire discography.
The mix leans considerably more towards the house end of the spectrum than a lot of Jauz’ live performances, and the stylistic range of the IDs reflects that. Also included in the eclectic pool of artists was Destructo, Martin Solveig, Skrillex and even Aretha Franklin.

There’s no simple roadmap for how a conglomerate of SFX Entertainment’s size goes through chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring, and trivial details were bound to fall by the wayside. In the most recent court documents that have surfaced as a result of the company’s legal proceedings, partial lineup details for three of its festivals have made their rounds on social media.
To be specific, some of the headliners for Electric Zoo, Spring Awakening and Mamby On The Beach have been revealed to the public. Artists as big as deadmau5, Hardwell, Claude VonStroke and Tchami have found their way onto the entertainment rosters for the former two events, with the likes of Hannah Wants, Chromeo and Chet Faker on the last.
The full lineup leaks for the three SFX Entertainment-run events are listed below, but since each festival will surely feature more names on their rosters, fans should expect to...

News from Oliver Heldens‘ new Heldeep Records imprint came out at a relatively sparse rate following its launch last year, but with the release of a new Ep series it looks like that’s about to change.
The first edition of the DJ Tools Ep has arrived, offering up three tracks that capture the label’s unique style of bass house. The first track of the bunch is “Right Here” by Billy Kenny and Aaron Jackson. By incorporating wonky bass wobbles into a funky house groove, the track succeeds in bringing something to the bass house formula that American artists like Jauz and Ephwurd have yet to tap into.
Elsewhere on the disc, Bart B More’s “Down” adds some breakbeat flavor to the Ep, with Kyle Watson’s “Don’t Talk” (featuring Pop Art) closing it out with some future house warmth.
