Elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of The Ink Spots) in
1989 (under the category Early Influences).
His high, almost falsetto tenor voice was one of the hallmarks of the
Ink Spots' sound. He was the last surviving member of the original
group by almost a decade at his death.
