Kaamyaab is a very rare and precious film. It takes us into the lives of those unsung senior artistes who are not ‘junior artistes’—that derogatory term given to the blur of people who stands in crowds – but aren’t stars neither.
We could call them the Nowhere People, na idhar ke na udhar ke…Think about Om Prakash, Kanhaiyalal, Manmohan Krishna, Nasir Hussain, Iftiker,…They are all gone remembered for the way they blended into the fabric of the films that they kept appearing in with stubborn persistence. Kaamyaab has quaint cameo space for all the fringe players. In fact the film is dedicated to one of them Viju Khote who passed away in October 2019.

Veteran actor of Marathi and Hindi films Viju Khote, who was popular for his Kalia character from the 1975 cult classic "Sholay" is no more. He was 78.
Viju passed away early on Monday, family sources said. He is survived by his actor sister Shubha Khote, who was elder to him by five years. Their father Nandu Khote was a noted stage actor too, and he worked in movies during the silent era.

Viju Khote made his big screen debut with "Ya Malak" in 1964 and went on to do some of the most remembered characters in the Hindi film industry.
In a career spanning almost six decades, Viju worked in over 300 films, including "Phir Hera Pheri", "Andaz Apna Apna" from the modern era besides some television shows and ads.
Renowned for comedy roles, Viju was famed for the evergreen reply to Gabbar Singh's "Kitne Aadmi The?...

September 13, 2010: The Veteran actor Viju Khote, who is seen in many Bollywood and Marathi Movies, will soon mark his presence in Sab TV’s sitcom ‘Lapataganj’ and he will be portraying the role of Mishri Mausi’s (Shubhangi Gokhale) Mumbai return husband.
A source says, “Viju Khote had started shooting for his promos and the shoot has started from yesterday. Today he will be shooting for the outdoors on the sets. Veteran actor Dharmendra was overwhelmed when he met his ‘Sholay’ co-stars Viju Khote and Asrani after 35 years on music reality show ‘Chhote Ustaad’.
Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy also accompanied the trio at the show that comes on Star Plus.
The 74-year-old got nostalgic as the contestants performed to the hit songs ‘Mehbooba O Mehbooba’, ‘Jab tak hai jaan’, ‘Yeh dosti’ and ‘Koi haseena jab’ from the film and said it reminded him of the places and time spent shooting the film.
He couldn’t contain his excitement when contestants Satinder and Shahid performed to ‘Main jat yamla pagla deewana’.
