After raising a few eyebrows in 'Machete Kills' it appears that the now very grown up Alexa Vega is once again flaunting her sexuality on this latest character poster from Rob Rodriguez and Frank Miller's 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For'. The 25 year old actress is certainly putting her innocent 'Spy Kids' days well and truly behind her and is bringing her cheeky side out once more playing the role of Gilda in the upcoming noir sequel. Vega stars alongside Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Josh Brolin ('Oldboy'), Rosario Dawson ('Trance'), Jaime King, Juno Temple ('Magic Magic'), Jessica Alba, Eva Green, Jamie Chung, Dennis Haysbert, Powers Boothe, Ray Liotta, Joseph Gordon-Levit ('Looper') and Jeremy Piven ('Entourage'). Okay, so it’s not really a new poster. It’s basically the same teaser poster that has been online for a year now, except this time they’ve slapped on all the names of the actors. In alphabetical order, no less. (I bet this is the first time Powers Boothe has had his name at the very top of a movie poster in what, 20 years or so? See, if you wait long enough, you’ll climb right back up to the top, Powers!) Hard to believe that the Robert Rodriguez/Frank Miller film was originally slated for this year. Wow, that was some optimistic thinking there by RobRod, huh? The movie is now scheduled for the much more reachable August 22, 2014. The cast, in case you have issues reading the above poster, include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Juno Temple, Mickey Rourke, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson … Gail,...

One of Syfy’s big announcements earlier this year was that Jamie Foxx would write and direct a limited horror anthology series for them, with an airdate set for this October. It’s now being reported that the project has been delayed. Deadline says that the series has been postponed for scheduling reasons and a new target air date has not been given.
One possible reason for this is that Jamie Foxx has been busy with promoting White House Down and he’s supposed to meet with Syfy to discuss the project in more detail next month. The report doesn’t make it sound like the project moving forward is set in stone and we’ll let readers know when any updates are available. Here’s the original anthology announcement:

I can't say we're too surprised by this news. As hard working as Robert Rodriguez ('Machete Kills') is the long-awaited 'Sin City' sequel 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' is most definitely not a project to be rushed to screens. And this appears to be the case for the comic book feature follow-up which has just been pushed back from its originally slated 4 October 2013 release all the way to August 22 2014. Rumour has it that it has something to do with the effects work on the project but no official reason has been given so far. But just think when this rolls around how exciting it'll be to finally feast our eyes upon it. Even just for the overly-impressive cast sheet that includes Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levit ('Looper'), Mickey Rourke, Jamie Chung, Eva Green, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Jessica Alba (below), Crystal McCahill, Dennis Haysbert,...

Exclusive: TNT has put in development drama Hit based on an idea by Jamie Foxx. Co-written by Foxx and former Numbers co-executive producer Robert Port, Hit centers on two former high school football teammates and best friends — one a Qb, one a Wr -– who years later are “drafted” by the Miami P.D. and assigned to Hit (High Impact Team). The same shorthand that made them unstoppable on the gridiron makes them great partners taking down the most dangerous criminals in the city. Foxx and Port are executive producing with Foxx’s producing partner Jaime King. Fun fact: Both Foxx and Port are Oscar winners. Foxx of course, won for his portrayal of Ray Charles in Ray, while Port and Bill Guttentag won for their documentary Twin Towers. Foxx, repped by CAA and Rick Yorn, next is coming out in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. His writing credits include co-creating The Jamie Foxx Show.

Exclusive: Fox is prepping a primetime sketch comedy series for midseason from Oscar winner and In Living Color alum Jamie Foxx. The network has handed out a 12-episode order to the half-hour comedy, tentatively titled The Jamie Foxx Project. Foxx, Fox TV Studios and producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum were behind a sketch comedy pilot for Fox this past development cycle. I hear the new project will be different and the original pilot won't be used. Rising sketch comedian/actor Affion Crockett (The Boondocks), who co-starred in the pilot, will star on the series and produce. One of the pilot's co-writers, Carl Jones also will stay on as writer/co-executive producer. In the vein of Fox's 1990s sketch/variety series In Living Color, which gave Foxx his break, The Jamie Foxx Project will take on pop culture, spoofing movie trailers, commercials, TV shows, music videos and celebrities, with a diverse cast of young new comedians.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, we just discovered that Jamie Foxx has teamed up with comedic actor Affion Crockett for a new urban-flavored sketch-comedy show, which will air on the Fox network.
Fox has ordered a pilot for an untitled project executive produced by Foxx and fellow "In Living Color" scribes, "MadTV" creators Fax Bahr and Adam Small, with "Wild 'N Out" alum Crockett attached.

So the whole stereotype about us bloggers sitting at home in our pajamas and living off Ramen? It's pretty true. But there's another side to our lives that involves brushing our hair, putting on clean shirts and practicing social skills, and that's conducting interviews with the real-life celebrities we're normally sitting at home critiquing. Despite my best efforts to get James McAvoy or Jesse Eisenberg to fall in love with me, none of these interviews have changed my life in the slightest-- but I guess in the Hollywood version, they will. Sounding more like The Godfather than Escape from New York, Philippe Martinez’s post-apocalyptic thriller, Tribes of October, may be looking to mix two genres that don't really feel like they belong together. Ray Stevenson, Jaime King, Stephen Moyer, Robert Duvall, and James Caan have signed up for Philippe Martinez’s post-apocalyptic thriller “Tribes of October”, says The Hollywood Reporter. Stevenson, of course, is a former castmember of HBO’s Rome, and recently assayed the part of the big-screen Punisher, replacing Thomas Jane. The film, er, didn’t do so well, but Stevenson has now moved on to, hopefully, a cooler sounding title. THR says the plot goes something like this: “October” is set in a future in which New York has become surrounded by an endless desert plagued by heat storms, and the city’s technology is such that nothing made after 1960 works any more. In this environment, a detective (Stevenson) goes after a Mafia don (Caan) who is going after the remnants of the NYPD, led by Duvall. Cinepro Pictures has announced a cast for their upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller Tribes of October. Philippe Martinez, who is better known as a producer more than a director even though he's got three small films under his belt, will be directing. Jamie Foxx is making himself at home at DreamWorks.
Two months after signing on to star in The Soloist, the Oscar winner is returning to the studio to play the lead in The Zebra Murders: A Season of Killing, Racial Madness, and Civil Rights.
Foxx will play Prentice Earl Sanders, one of two trailblazing black detectives who set out to solve a series of racially motivated serial killings that rocked San Francisco in the fall and winter of 1973-74. Ultimately, Sanders -- who, along with writer Bennett Cohen, recounted the story in the book on which the film is based -- ends up becoming the chief of police after the detectives successfully win their own battle against racism and harassment within the force.
The project, which reunites Foxx with The Kingdom's Matthew Michael Carnahan, who is penning the script, is being produced through Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner's Plan B and Foxx/King Entertainment, the production company run by Foxx and Jaime Rucker King.

Jamie Foxx is set to star in Screen Gems' comedy The Break Up Handbook for writer-director Daniel Taplitz and producer Lisa Tornell. The project is scheduled to go into production in December in Los Angeles. Handbook is a farcical comedy about a man (Foxx) who, after being unceremoniously dumped by his fiancee, pens a how-to book on breaking up and becomes a best-selling author on the subject. Not wanting his male friends to suffer the same fate, he gives them advice on dumping their mates, and a comedy of errors ensues. Screen Gems senior vp production Stacy Kolker Cramer is overseeing the project for the studio. Foxx, repped by CAA and manager Jaime King, most recently appeared in Columbia Pictures' Ali and just wrapped production on RKO Pictures' crime drama Shade. Taplitz, repped by Original Artists Agency, wrote and directed the feature Commandments, starring Aidan Quinn and Courteney Cox. His recent writing credits include the telefilm Little Richard and miniseries Black River.
