Although his primary successes were in operetta and musical comedy on
stage, he spent four seasons with the Metropolitan Opera Company
(1946-1947 - 1949-1950), where his most frequent roles were Count Almaviva
in Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" and Arturo Bucklaw in
Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor." He spent his last years as a voice
teacher and coach.
