"Expendabelles" is expected to begin in early 2014 in Bulgaria. All that's known of the story is that the women will take on a villain in the small South-East Asian sovereignty of Brunei, one of the wealthiest countries on Earth. Lerner says:
"The action movie will be spectacular - and in nothing inferior to the three male movies of the The Expendables.
There will be battles, special and visual effects and stunts - the spectacle will be equivalent to what Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme have done.
Two excellent screenwriters (Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith) are already working on the picture. Now we are...

Like Creepy said when he wrote up the recent news story about Richard Lewis joining the cast of Amy Heckerling's horror comedy Vamps, a lot of us prefer our genre fare to stick to the serious side, but considering Heckerling's track record, I'm willing to give Vamps a shot. And the news that Kristen Johnston has joined the cast only increases the likelihood of the film being a winner.

Actress Kristen Johnston (Third Rock from the Sun) has joined the cast of writer/director Amy Heckerling’s new feature film Vamps.
Comedy director Heckerling, best known for the 1990's awesome teenage Alicia Silverstone flick Clueless, is in preproduction on this new horror comedy. Vamps tells the modern day tale of two young beautiful female vampires living the good nightlife in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize her immortality.
Johnston joins Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter, already on board as two young vampires and Sigourney Weaver, who plays the role of Cisserus, a bloodthirsty “stem” vampire who has created a dynasty. Johnston plays Mrs. Van Helsing, a posh British woman who is suspicious of her son's new love interest Stacey (Ritter).
This film, clearly made with a female audience in mind, may be the comedic, satric, and silly response...
