The upcoming remaster of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2” managed to nab the entire original roster for what’s being touted a very “faithful” new look at the classic skateboarding games — but it’s also getting some new additions.
Activision Blizzard announced on Tuesday the full roster of new skaters joining the lineup: Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neill, Riley Hawk and Tyshawn Jones. They join the previously announced lineup of skaters returning from the original game, including Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Bucky Lasek, Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Bob Burnquist, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Rune Glifberg, Chad Muska and, of course, Tony Hawk.
“Modern-day skateboarding originated from a generation of skaters who grew up playing the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games,” said Michelle Bresaw, VP of product management and marketing at Activision, in a statement. “The world-class pro...

Several months ago, we began to hear rumors that the first two Tony Hawk games would be getting the remaster treatment, and fans were incredibly excited with the idea of playing through some of the best skateboarding titles ever. Unfortunately, Activision has remained silent on the topic of re-releases… until now.
Earlier today, the publishing giant finally pulled back the curtain, revealing a remastered collection that packages Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 into one bundle. This is great news for fans of the franchise, which, if we’re being frank, has kind of fallen by the wayside over the past decade.
For those wondering what these re-releases will include, here’s a bit of a rundown. The collection will include completely overhauled visuals, online play (which was never implemented in the original games), and a more robust course creation system, for those who like to show off their creative talents.

You may be enjoying the PS4 today and spending countless hours in some newly released games, but it all started somewhere. 20 years ago today is when the first PlayStation had released in North America. Of course it had been out for 9 months already in Japan, but that is besides the point! We take a quick look back.
December 3, 1994 is when the PlayStation originally released in Japan and it was a growing success. 9 months later (who knew Sony was still pregnant!) 9/9/95 is when it finally came to North America.
What was so special about the grey toned machine when we already had several units out on the market already? Sega Genesis anyone? Well Sony was introducing something groundbreaking, a CD drive for games built into a rather powerful machine that allowed better 3D polygonal games. You read that right, your friggin CD's work in this new awesome video game machine! How totally rad!

Dogtown And Z-boys (Blu-raySONY Home ENTERTAINMENT2002/Rated PG-13/91 minsNow Available – List Price $24.95By the mid seventies, skateboarding was considered to be a sixties fad that had all but died out, except for a handful of committed fans in Santa Monica, California. When a group of surfers known as the Zephyr team sought to translate the phenomenal stunts of world-class wave riders onto their skateboards, they had no idea they were giving birth to modern skateboarding. At the Santa Monica Surf Shop, Zephyr Productions, twelve of these surfers organized themselves into a team to compete at local skate events with the help of the store's owners Jeff Ho and Skip Engblom. Soon the radical moves and urban style of the Zephyr Skate Team, aka Z-Boys, destroyed public preconceptions of skateboarding as a sport and a lifestyle, and the pioneering styles of Z-Boy skaters like Tony Alva, Jim Muir, and Jay Adams...
