- Glen MacDonough (1870 - 1924) was an American author and composer, best known as the librettist of Victor Herbert's operetta, Babes in Toyland, and a lyricist for L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz . He was also one of the nine founders of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers). MacDonough was born into show business, he was the son of theater manager Thomas B. MacDonough and actress/author Laura Don. Glen MacDonough wrote continuously until the year before his death in Stamford, Connecticut, in 1924.
