He was cast as Tootles in
Hook (1991)
after the original choice,
Richard Attenborough
, declined the role as he was busy directing
Chaplin (1992)
.
His scenes in
Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971)
wound up on the cutting room floor before the film was originally released.
Malet was cremated at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. His ashes were sprinkled into the Pacific Ocean.
