As if being a new mommy wasn’t difficult enough, Burden of Truth lawyer Joanna Chang also has a target on her back in a trailer for the fourth and final season, which premieres Stateside on The CW next Friday, July 30 at 8/7c.
“None of those other moms have to do what I do. How many of them are trying to take down a mining company?” Joanna laments to her legal partner/baby daddy Billy in the above video. When she then challenges the corporate titan in court to protect a Millwood resident’s property from being destroyed, the mining company retaliates,...

“Burden of Truth,” a Canadian legal drama starring Kristin Kreuk that airs on The CW in the U.S., has been canceled after four seasons. The final episode of the show’s fourth season, which aired on its home broadcast network CBC on Thursday, will serve as its series finale.
“After four incredible seasons, we’re bringing our ‘Burden of Truth’ story to its conclusion in tonight’s series finale,” a post added to the show’s official Facebook page Thursday said. “We are so proud of the stories we’ve been able to tell each season, especially those related to social justice. Last year CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) premiered Burden of Truth, a new legal drama.
Those of us in the U.S. who were drawn in by the trailer got super bummed that this exciting new show would only be available to our friends north of the border. Then the CW picked it up for their summer lineup and it exceded expectations.
The CW Fall 2019 Schedule: Batwoman Teams with Supergirl, Charmed Banished to Fridays
Still, Burden of Truth got very little coverage here in the good old U.S. For whatever reason, nobody was talking about it, let alone watching. And some people couldn't even remember what it was called, mistakenly calling it Burden of Proof.
Now season two is about to air in the U.S., and we're hoping for some more viewers and some more discussion. Burden of Truth is an entertaining and original show that you should be watching.
