- Kenny McBain was born on July 28, 1946 in Glasgow, Strathclyde, Scotland, UK. He was a producer and director, known for Grange Hill (1978), The Omega Factor (1979) and Inspector Morse (1987). He died on April 22, 1989.
- A few days before he died of Hodgkins Disease, he saw Inspector Morse (1987), which he had been responsible for bringing to the small screen, achieve the honour of being awarded a Queen's Award for Export in recognition of its sales to overseas television companies.
