Carmy and company are back in the first trailer for “The Bear” Season 3. (Apparently he didn’t freeze to death in that freezer!)
As the prodigy chef, played by Jeremy Allen White, opens the new restaurant alongside Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), they find themselves once again sparring. In one scene, Carmy yells, “No surprise!” after Richie brings a piñata into the kitchen. Richie responds: “Yes, surprise!”
In a shorter teaser released five days earlier, Sydney tells Carmy and Richie: “This is a dysfunctional kitchen!,” to which they respond in unison: “Show me a functional one!”
All episodes of award-winning FX dramedy are set to release on June 27 and will be available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. (and Disney+ internationally).
Season 2 of “The Bear” saw Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) work together to transform their sandwich shop into a fine dining restaurant.

It used to be all about the trailers and the broadcast fall schedules. Now those are largely a thing of the past as the media sector’s upfront presentations to Madison Avenue ad buyers continue to evolve.
Following a week of spin and hard sales, here are eight central takeaways after Netflix, Amazon, NBCUniversal, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube and Fox made their pitches.
1. The Streaming Giants Came to Play Reese Witherspoon attends as Amazon debuts Inaugural Upfront Presentation at Pier 36 on May 14, 2024 in New York City.
This year was the first time that Netflix and Amazon had physical events in New York during upfronts week (YouTube is now in year three), and they clearly tried to make an impression, gunning for a piece of the $20 billion or so in upfront commitments that used to go exclusively to traditional entertainment companies. Amazon’s event Tuesday featured “the highest concentration of...

After hustling for nearly two decades to build a career as an actor and stand-up comedian, Adam Ray has recently hit on an entirely new level of exposure. The person he has to thank for it, you might be surprised to hear, is none other than Dr. Phil.
For many a performer, Ray tells Deadline, the goal is to hone one’s craft until hitting on something “that’s yours” and yours alone. This is what he’s accomplished with Dr. Phil Live!, a digital series garnering huge attention online of later, in which he plays a heightened version of the popular daytime talk show host, with the help of detailed prosthetics.

Throughout the six-episode run of Netflix’s Everybody’s in L.A., John Mulaney’s comedian guests kept trying to find ways to describe the live talk show’s chaotic-bordering-on-surreal atmosphere. “I feel like this entire show is a Banksy!” a confused Jon Stewart suggested. Lego Masters host Will Arnett kicked off the 2024 Fox Upfront by introducing most of the celebrity players for the new season, including Jon Hamm, Olivia Culpo, Tom Brady and of course Rob Lowe, who he introduced as coming straight from St. Elmo’s Fire.
What else happened at the presentation in the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City? Read on.
Michael Strahan and Gordon Ramsay kicked off the show in the theater-in-the-sound setting, and it took all of 20 seconds before Ramsay dropped his first f-bomb. The duo riffed about their pairing as hosts and Ramsay cussed some more before they brought out Jeff Collins, President of Advertising Sales, Marketing and Brand Partnerships. “The Fox portfolio is designed to drive maximum impact for your brand,” he said in a statement that absolutely no one has ever heard before at a NY upfront.

The 2024 Fox upfront presentation featured an appearance by Jamie Foxx in one of his first public appearances since his health crisis last year.
Foxx took to the stage and did his best to crack up the crowd of advertisers, a tall order considering the bar had yet to open. He gave it his all though, showcasing his trademark wit and charisma, reminding the attendees “You got free alcohol after this. Let’s get f—ed up!”
The host of the Fox competition series “Beat Shazam,” Foxx not only took the chance to plug his own series but also Fox shows like “The Masked Singer,” “Animal Control,” and the MLB’s upcoming Negro Leagues tribute game at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama, for Fox Sports. Failing to get a satisfactory reaction from the crowd for that last programming note, Foxx asked the crowd, “Y’all won’t clap for the Negroes?...

Fox 2024-25 Fall Lineup: Rescue Hi-Surf Gets Post Super Bowl Slot; Accused & 9-1-1: Lone Star Return
Fox was busy over the weekend.
They renewed their remaining drama, The Cleaning Lady, for a 12-episode third season under new showrunners, to start.
The Cleaning Lady, which suffered a great loss when leading man Adan Canto died, was forced to pivot midseason, and it will be pivoting again for its third season.
While we don’t have details, perhaps divesting the original creative team from being so closely related to their story will give the show an opportunity to thrive.
Today, Fox will unveil its content slate for the 2024-2025 television season to the national advertising community during its in-person Upfront Presentation at the Manhattan Center.
That means we get the information on that schedule now and can add the videos after the execs reveal them later this evening.
Here’s what we know.

For the first time in three years, Fox is unveiling a fall schedule at its upfront, reverting to the decades-old tradition of presenting a fall lineup to advertisers in May.
And for the first time since Family Guy was brought back from cancellation by Fox 19 years ago, Seth MacFarlane’s animated hit, which just celebrated its 25th anniversary, won’t be on the network’s fall schedule. It is one of 8 new and returning scripted series held for midseason — including Animal Control, The Cleaning Lady and Alert — which is as many as there are on Fox’s fall schedule. The network likely is plotting a major midseason rollout using its Super Bowl broadcast as a promotional platform.
Also, for the first time in five years, there is no WWE SmackDown on Fridays as the network is replacing the departing wrestling franchise with sports coverage of college football and basketball as well as Ufl.

Donald Glover is busy, apparently so busy as per fans that the Community movie, based on the hit NBC drama of the same name, keeps getting delayed due to his busy schedule. Starring as Troy Barnes in the hit TV series, the actor is one of the several lead characters of the show based on the lives of Community college attendees in the fictional town of Greendale.
A still from Community
First announced in 2022 by Peacock, the movie is yet to start filming. And several fans believe it is because of Glover and his busy schedule that is allegedly causing repeated delays. Even after the Mr. and Mrs. Smith star revealed it is not his fault that the movie hasn’t begun filming, fans refuse to believe him.

Not every TV show can hit a home run right out of the gate. Often, they need time to settle into a routine or win over audiences, especially when they are more character-driven. Normally, things start to shake out after the pilot episode, which is where we usually see the growing pains of a show trying to figure out exactly what it is. But every once in a while, there's a show -- sometimes even one that will go on to become legitimately great -- that needs a little more hand-holding.
Maybe the characters aren't gelling the right way, the showrunners are attempting to retool the series in real time, or they were simply experimenting stylistically. Whatever the reason, it's not impossible for a show that requires some extra time to cook to become beloved by audience. Here are some of our favorite shows that, despite eventually aspiring to greatness,...

Donald Glover has been booked and busy, but those rumors about his schedule holding up production on Peacock’s Community: The Movie aren’t accurate, according to the multihyphenate.
“It’s happening but I don’t know when. I swear, it’s happening,” Glover told Deadline earlier this week at the Deadline Studio at Prime Experience in support of his Prime Video series Mr. and Mrs Smith. The video can be watched above.
When asked if it was his busy schedule holding up production, he said while laughing, “Everybody is hating on me on the internet and it’s not me! They’re like, ‘We know that you’re the reason.’ Maybe I was last year — maybe — but not this time.”

Tension at the University of California, Los Angeles, continued over the weekend and into Monday when professors protested outside an A-list gala at the school on Saturday night and another several dozen students were detained on Monday, while investigations into the mob that attacked the pro-Palestine encampment on campus last week continued.
Despite the mass arrests and dismantling of an encampment by police in riot gear that took place on Thursday, pro-Palestine protests carried on Monday at the university. A group of demonstrators was seen zip-tied and being moved by authorities from a UCLA parking garage to an Lacpd bus. There was a mic drop moment at the end of an event in New York City celebrating 30 years of “The X-Files” when series creator Chris Carter reignited the debate around Dana Scully’s pregnancy.
Towards the end of “My Struggle IV,” the series finale episode in Season 11, Scully (Gillian Anderson) informs Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) that William (Miles Robbins) is not their son. Is Ryan Seacrest not the fans’ top pick to replace Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel of Fortune at the end of Season 41? Pat announced that he was retiring in June 2023 but shared he would be staying through Season 41. Then, Ryan was revealed to be the one filling his shoes. Yet, is there someone better out there? Keep reading for more details.
Ryan Seacrest Not Top Pick For Wheel Of Fortune Fans
It made sense to have Ryan Seacrest come in and take over for Pat Sajak who had been hosting Wheel of Fortune since 1981. He has been hosting various shows for years. These include American Idol, his own radio show, and Live With Kelly. So, this was just a natural progression and he will start in September 2024. Ryan Seacrest will take over the helm hosting Wheel of Fortune later this year, but fans of the show think someone else would do a better job filling Pat Sajak’s shoes.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Pat Sajak announced his retirement earlier this year.
Season 41 will be Pat’s final one as the longtime host of Wheel of Fortune, and this fall, Ryan will take over, beginning with Season 42.
Although Ryan has plenty of experience as a TV host, some critics think another well-known television personality would be better suited for the job.
In a recent Reddit thread, one Wheel of Fortune viewer made a bold proclamation when they posted, “Joel McHale > Ryan Seacrest.”
“I don’t know if he was in the running for Pat’s replacement, but I think Joel McHale (Card Sharks) would have been a great pick…” Redditor u/baracuda68 wrote in the caption.

“I don’t know if he was in the running for Pat’s replacement, but I think Joel McHale (Card Sharks) would have been a great pick…” Redditor u/baracuda68 wrote in the caption.

The graveyard of shows that have attempted to bring something resembling the late-night format to streaming is vast.
Even as subscription streaming services have become the de facto leader in producing original television content, late night remains one nut that the likes of Netflix, Apple TV+, and Peacock have failed to crack.
It’s not for lack of talent. Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler, Michelle Wolf, Hasan Minhaj, Amber Ruffin, and Joel McHale have all taken turns behind the proverbial desk for different streamers, but none have made enough of a dent to stick around for more than a season or two.
Why streamers keep trying is no wonder. Talk shows are inexpensive to produce, and if one were to be genuinely successful, it could help combat the dirtiest of words in streaming: churn.

The second season of The Bear proved to be as stress-inducing as it was profound, intimate and heartwarming, so it's no surprise that it received even more prestigious nominations and awards than the previous one. In addition to the storyline revolving around the titular restaurant and its staff, no less dramatic were the star cameos that appeared either as relatives of the protagonists or as prominent personalities in the restaurant world.
One of the most unexpected, but certainly welcome cameos came from Will Poulter, who played the former colleague of Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and new mentor to Marcus (Lionel Boyce). And now a new set video has surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, with Poulter in attendance. All this means that the actor will return to the series and his role may be expanded to a recurring one.

Travis Kelce is following in the footsteps of Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan by hosting a game show that features celebrities.
With that recent news, Strahan seems ready to assist Kelce in preparing him to host the new game show.
Kelce is reportedly adding that to his accomplishments, which include winning several Super Bowl rings with the Kansas City Chiefs, appearing on Saturday Night Live, and dating Taylor Swift.
After spending his career with just one team, the New York Giants, Strahan moved into various business ventures and television projects.
Those TV gigs include his work as an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday, co-anchor on ABC’s Good Morning America, and host of ABC’s rebooted The $100,000 Pyramid.
With that experience in hosting, he might be able to provide valuable insight to Kelce for his upcoming gig.

As we await the long-gestating “Community” movie, co-stars Joel McHale and Ken Jeong are back together again on Wednesday’s new episode of McHale’s Fox comedy “Animal Control.” It also marks the return of “Kensday,” as “Animal Control” airs right after “The Masked Singer,” in which Jeong is a panelist (and McHale has been a frequent guest over the seasons).
Variety has a first look at the duo in action from tonight’s episode, as Ken Jeong guest stars as Roman Park, “a reputable (and unhinged) dog trainer.” In the story, Emily (played by Vella Lovell) hires Park to help with the kennel dogs at the precinct, but he disrupts the office dynamics and competes with McHale’s character, Frank, for the role of “Alpha.”

“Animal Control” star Joel McHale is keeping the vermin off his “Community” movie set. McHale told The Post that Chevy Chase is not welcome back for the upcoming Peacock movie adaptation.
“I don’t think he’s allowed to [return],” McHale said. “I don’t think it would happen. I don’t think [him returning] is a thing. Obviously his unceremonious departure in Season 4 pretty much did that in.”
McHale added: “I’m guessing if you asked him, he wouldn’t be interested” in starring in the movie.
The “Community” movie is the culmination of Dan Harmon’s preordained six-seasons-and-a-movie destiny for his NBC sitcom. Survivor 46 has reached the “merge” stage of the season. But since this is the New Era of Survivor, the players have to earn the merge.
Jem was voted off the previous episode, leaving only 13 people competing for the $1 million prize. Now it’s time for the castaways to prove they deserve a spot in the final 12.
Since it is time to earn the merge, it also means the remaining members of the Yanu Tribe have survived. Despite members at the first three Tribal Councils, Q, Tiffany, and Kenzie have made it to the next stage.
Yanu lost the first four Immunity Challenges, leading to Jelinsky, Jess, and Bhanu getting sent home. They were only spared from a fourth elimination when Randen from the Nami Tribe was pulled due to a medical situation.
To earn the merge (unless something has changed), two teams of six people will compete to make the merge.
