The right costume can evoke emotions and awaken a character in a way that no other part of a film can. And this is why Film AlUla, the Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency, has just announced that Italian-Japanese artistic and creative director Nicola Formichetti is its new costume mentor for its AlUla Creates initiative.
Developing AlUla as a tourist destination is a mega project for Saudi Arabia, and Film AlUla positions this northwest region in the country as an international filming destination, building it out with facilities and infrastructure for blockbuster film production. The 2023 film Kandahar, featuring Gerard Butler, was filmed in AlUla.
So, tapping Formichetti is a strategic move by Film AlUla, as his accomplishments in fashion have created iconic pop cultural moments in history. It was Formichetti who was behind Lady Gaga’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards appearance, with her five dress changes in Jean Paul Gaultier...

Paramount+ may have culled a wealth of international originals in the past couple of weeks but that hasn’t stopped it committing to a UK thriller series set in a world where men live under a strict nightly curfew.
Starring Sarah Parish, Doctor Who’s Mandip Gill, Mitchell Robertson and singer Alexandra Burke, Curfew is set in a society where all men live under ‘The Women’s Safety Act’, meaning they are bound by a strict curfew from 7Pm to 7Am every night, with their movements tracked by an ankle tag 24 hours a day. When a woman’s body is discovered, brutally murdered during curfew hours and left on the steps of the Women’s Safety Centre, veteran Police officer Pamela Green believes that a man is responsible. But in a world where men are bound by the curfew system, her theory is rejected.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been living in the United States for several years now, and they have slowly been building a new reputation for themselves after leaving the royal family in 2020. With that said, there is still a large amount of the public who are unimpressed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, suggesting the couple has somewhat of a “woe is me” attitude.
Now, though, one expert says Harry and Meghan are trying hard to ditch that “poor me” mentality in favor of focusing more on building a stronger platform for themselves.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ditching the ‘poor me’ narrative
When Harry and Meghan first left the royal family, the two had to rebuild in North America. This wasn’t so easy, considering they had developed quite a reputation as working members of the royal family. The pair started by telling their side of the story,...

New true crime documentary series Who Killed Jill Dando? is now streaming on Netflix, and overall it’s a fairly thoughtful and comprehensive look back at the shocking murder of the beloved TV presenter, albeit one that stumbles at the finish line.
Dando was murdered on her doorstep in Fulham, southwest London, back in 1999. Due to her popularity and the nature of the crime itself, both the public and the police were keen to see the crime solved as soon as possible. Those who live in the UK or are familiar with the case will know what happened next: the identity of Dando’s killer remains a mystery 24 years later.

Loose Women viewers were left angered by a tense debate about the Nicola Bulley investigation.
On Thursday’s edition of the ITV show (16 February), the panellists discussed the police’s search for the missing mother, and whether they were right to share details about “significant issues” Ms Bulley had in her personal life.
Kéllé Bryan supported people’s questioning of the police’s handling of the case, stating: “I guess my personal issue is the trust for the police. I think people have every right to ask them questions.”
She said that she doesn’t encourage “keyboard warriors” to wade in, but “those who have an informed place, who have done their reading and done their research from what is available”.
However, Jane Moore had an issue with her co-star’s point, and, interrupting her, replied: “But from what’s available, that is not necessarily that is all that is available.

Federation Entertainment has hit the M&a trail once again by taking a majority stake in Britannia, Bronson and Bulletproof producer Vertigo Films, its first British acquisition.
The French Bureau and Around the World in 80 Days powerhouse has had a highly acquisitive year and the move comes almost exactly 12 months after Federation set up a UK production company helmed by two former eOne execs.
Launched 20 years ago, James Richardson and Allan Niblo’s Vertigo has been behind the likes of hit features Monster and Bronson. It moved into TV when CEO Jane Moore joined in 2014 and achieved success with Sky double Britannia and Bulletproof, although the latter was cancelled last year following the allegations made by 20 women against lead Noel Clarke, which he denies.
Vertigo is now working on Amazon Prime Video’s Jez Butterworth-penned Mammals starring James Corden and Sally Hawkins, 80s gangster epic A Town Called Malice and a yet-to-be-announced Sky Cinema film.

The Loose Women panel enjoyed a special treat on today's show - ice cream made from breast milk.
Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha were among those who had a try of Baby Gaga, infused with Madagascan vanilla.
"It takes just like vanilla," said Moore. "Exactly like vanilla ice cream."
"You know what, it's absolutely lovely," Sawalha added.
However, when asked whether she would buy it in the shops, Moore was unsure.
"It's still a sugary product, isn't it?" she said. "It's a bit of a gimmick as far as I'm concerned. I just don't see the validity in buying it.
"Ok, maybe there might be some nutritious element to it, because of the breast milk, but then you've got the sugar and the other stuff."...

Marsh replied: "I appreciate that, but I think it's so difficult. I can't choose between any of them, because there's nothing for me that makes me go [and want to vote]. They promise something, and that never happens anyway."

Panellists Coleen Nolan, Kaye Adams, Linda Robson, Sherrie Hewson, Jane Moore, Janet Street Porter and Jamelia will wear black outfits with orange accessories, the colours of the charity Action Against Cancer.

Carol Vorderman has announced that she has quit Loose Women.
The presenter has been on the panel of the daytime show since September 2011, but has struggled to commit to the filming schedule this year. She is currently in training to fly a plane solo around the world for charity.
She is also planning further TV work and writing a number of educational books.
Vorderman told The Mirror that she did not want to remain on the show if she could not fully commit to it, saying: "In the first two years on Loose I did over 100 days a year, but in the last year I have only managed just over 20 days.
"I tried appearing just once a week until Christmas and I just couldn't do it."
She said that she had forced herself to make a decision, saying: "I like to do things properly and it's unfair to commit to something half-heartedly.

Welch - who quit the ITV talk show in October last year following a row with producers over changes to the programme - took to Twitter to say how disappointed she was in Klass, who claimed the show was previously "too ranty and misogynistic" before she joined in January.
Klass had told the Daily Mail: "I love Loose Women. It's nice to be able to articulate and get things out there. But I feel it was getting a bit misogynistic, a bit post-menopausal or pre-menopausal and ranty.
"That's not how women should be represented so it's nice they've refreshed the panel and we can talk about politics, fashion designers and what else is going on in the week."
After reading the comments, Welch tweeted: "Disappointed @KlassMyleene @McGiff. Sadly ratings suggest most viewers don't agree with you.

Breaking: CBS Films has set Andy Fickman to helm The Exes, the romantic comedy based on the Jane Moore novel The Ex Files. Kelly Bowe wrote the script and Leonard Goldberg is producing. The plot: The ex-girlfriend of the groom reluctantly agrees to attend his destination wedding for closure and for friendship. Once there, she finds herself trapped at an island resort filled with couples’ exes. The network’s movie arm has optioned The Ex Files, a 2003 chick-lit novel by Jane Moore, a columnist on Murdoch tabloid The Sun. Veteran TV and film producer Leonard Goldberg will produce. The Ex Files is about a a couple who invite all their ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends to their wedding. Goldberg has boiled the title down to The Exes, presumably to avoid confusion with Scully and Mulder, and looks to be mining the same territory as 27 Dresses and Bride Wars and My Best Friend's Wedding. Then again, rom-coms about impending nuptials do tend to perform at the box office. Tally Garner of Curtis Brown negotiated the CBS deal on behalf of Moore. Icm client Sahara Lotti is adapting the novel.
