- Balding character actor who worked often for Hal Roach, playing short-tempered policemen, judges, court officers, bartenders, etc., and was usually the butt of shenanigans by such comics as The Little Rascals, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. He also went up against The Three Stooges, most notably in Disorder in the Court (1936), and even turned up in a couple of W.C. Fields pictures.
