Captain America: Brave New World is nine months away from swooping into theaters, but more promo art has surfaced today which reveals that Sam Wilson will don a helmet in the movie.
Given how perfect Sam's Captain America suit in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was, there's already been some disappointment among fans that the hero is now basically wearing his Falcon goggles with Steve Rogers' old suit.
This headgear is another big departure and doesn't look that different from Ant-Man's helmet. However, we see a breathing tube which suggests Sam will wear this during a high-altitude battle of some sort.
There's also a nod to Captain America's "A" on the helmet, though it's relatively subtle.
Marvel Studios runs the risk of this feeling like The Falcon wearing Captain America's suit, and the pressure is on to deliver here with Captain America: Brave New World having to follow in...

Captain America: Brave New World, or Captain America 4, is going to mark the return of several characters from The Incredible Hulk. Liv Tyler, who played the role of Betty Ross in the 2008 film is also confirmed to reprise her role in Anthony Mackie’s next MCU feature. According to the latest rumors, Tyler will only be there in the film for the post-credits scene.
Liv Tyler as Betty Ross
If the rumors are to be believed, the post-credits scene will center around the “funeral” of Betty’s father Thaddeus Ross, who will be played by Harrison Ford in the upcoming film. The late William Hurt played the role of Thaddeus Ross in the past MCU films. As Ford’s Ross is expected to play a central role in Captain America 4, the rumor has many fans concerned about the character.
What do the rumors state about Thaddeus Ross’ fate in Captain America 4?...

We've had a pretty good idea that Captain America: Brave New World would feature the MCU debut of Red Hulk for a while now, but we recently got confirmation thanks to some McDonald's Happy Meal Toys!
Not an ideal way to get a first look at the rampaging red monster, but the plush toys weren't exactly detailed. Now, thanks to some new promo art, we finally have a proper look at the character design.
The artwork isn't the clearest, but it still gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect from Brave New World's take on the transformed General President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford). And no, it doesn't look like he's going to grow the 'stache back when he changes!

Thanks to last year's strikes, Captain America: Brave New World is one of many 2024 movies now not heading our way until next year.
A few pieces of merchandise have started showing up here and there, though most of it will have been pushed back to coincide with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier sequel's new release date.
Still, it seems nothing will mess up McDonald's Happy Meal schedule as Captain America: Brave New World toys are starting to show up in restaurants across the U.S. As well as a closer look at Red Hulk, we see Diamondback sporting a comic-accurate costume and using the same diamond tips as the version seen on the page.
With rumours swirling that the Serpent Society has been cut from the movie, this may be all we see of her.
The bigger reveal below is new promo art of Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson suited up as Captain America.

Ever since Steve Rogers decided to hand his shield off to his buddy Sam Wilson (a.k.a. Falcon) at the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans have wondered what was next. We got a Disney+ series that showed Sam’s hesitance to pick up the mantle of Captain America and the history that comes with it. By the end of the series, he knew he was the only person who could take on the role of Captain America. Now, where do we go? It looks like the upcoming story of super heroes and alter egos, Captain America: Brave New World, will tell us.

The upcoming Marvel film Captain America: Brave New World has had a rather rocky development, with rumors of poor test screenings, reshoots, and even delays leading to some wondering when the film will actually be released.
So little is known about the film, and the only hint at any story is its multiple subtitles, with the first being “New World Order” but being changed to “Brave New World” due to political concerns. This will also be the first Captain America film without Chris Evans as Falcon (Played by: Anthony Mackie) has taken up the mantel (as seen in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier).
But we may now know of a character that will be appearing in the film, one that will serve as the potential main villain of the story. That being Red Hulk. Red Hulk is the alter ego of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross after he, too, was mutated like Bruce Banner,...

Director Renny Harlin's career is fascinating. The Finnish filmmaker grew up loving Hollywood movies and later managed to insert himself into that very industry, making a slew of successful '80s and '90s movies from "The Long Kiss Goodnight" to "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master." More recently, however, his output has been a little more uneven.
Last year, Harlin's Pierce Brosnan-starring film "The Misfits" made a surprise comeback on Netflix. I say a "surprise" because "The Misfits" did not fare well at the box office when it was first released in 2021, and despite Harlin's efforts to rekindle the magic of his '90s actioners, simply functioned, according to critic Chris Bumbray, as "ad for Abu Dhabi tourism." Thankfully, the man who gave us such classics as "Die Hard 2" and "Cliffhanger" has not simply been reduced to churning out streaming movies that desperately...

Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson steps into his own as the star-spangled Avenger in the first look at “Captain America: Brave New World” that Disney shared during its CinemaCon presentation on Thursday. It sees the newly-minted Captain America saving Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, the president of the United States, from a group of brain-washed assassins. The action-packed scene finds Wilson engaged in hand-to-hand combat, while dodging bullets as he desperately tries to rescue the leader of the free world from a daring attack on the White House.
The first look at the Marvel movie also showed Wilson getting an offer from Ross that he might not be able to refuse. “I want Captain America to help me rebuild the Avengers,” the President tells the patriotic superhero.
The sequel picks up after the events of the Disney+ streaming series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Marvel Studios has been quiet for a little while, but Kevin Feige and company made a splash at CinemaCon 2024 by showing off several minutes of footage from one of their next big movies.
One of the most astonishing things about the 15-year-long cultural phenomenon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that they managed to get a mass audience to care about limp characters like Thor and Captain America. As a comics reader in the 1990s, I recall that those who read Thor and Captain America books were snickered at; the X-Men, Batman, Spider-Man, and the then-rising Image Comics characters were considered way cooler. Thanks to the MCU, however, Captain America (previously played by Chris Evans) was now hip, and his movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is often vaunted -- rather debatably -- as one of the best films in the long-running series.

Kevin Feige and Anthony Mackie traveled to Las Vegas to introduce Captain America: Brave New World, the Marvel Studios movie that puts the actor in the starring role.
Feige called back to Captain America: The Winter Soldier as something fans still talk about, because it was a relatively grounded action thriller. He said Cap 4 would follow that tradition and showed a new clip.
Mackie has played hero Sam Wilson since 2014’s The Winter Soldier and appeared in multiple Marvel movies before headlining his own series, the Disney+ show Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which bowed in 2021. Anthony Mackie has been a stalwart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since debuting as Sam Wilson/Falcon in 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The actor’s superhero tenure has included “Avengers” movies and the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, Mackie is taking on the mantle of Captain America in the upcoming theatrical tentpole “Captain America: Brave New World.”
While promoting his latest series “Twisted Metal” in the United Kingdom, Mackie compared the project to his experience making Marvel movies and told Radio Times there was a lot more storytelling freedom to be had outside of the MCU.
“I would say the Marvel thing is completely different, just because it’s such a space of controlled entertainment. Like, there’s only so much you can do,” Mackie observed. “There’s only so much creativity you can bring to the table, because Stan Lee gave us so much content.

Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two is the hottest movie currently being shown in cinemas around the world. The sequel to the critically acclaimed, award-winning adaptation of Frank Herbert’s beloved sci-fi saga became a major hit, with both fans and critics agreeing that Villeneuve has made yet another masterpiece. The movie is just short of three hours long, but even with such a long runtime, many scenes had to be cut from the final version of the movie.
It has been known that popular fantasy and comic book actor Tim Blake Nelson was supposed to play a part in the movie, but as those who have seen the movie will know, Nelson was not in the final cut, which actually means that his scenes were ultimately cut from the movie. This has been confirmed by the actor himself.

The mantle of Captain America has been passed to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, marking a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After inheriting the shield from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Wilson’s journey as Captain America began in the 2021 series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
Anthony Mackie || Captain America: Civil War
There, he worked alongside some talented stars like Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes) and Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo). As Marvel has forayed from the TV to the movies and will focus more on Captain America, there are fewer chances of these two actors making a bigger impact in the future. Thus, their absence will be felt, not only by fans but by Mackie as well.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier found Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) teaming up with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) for a global adventure that tested their abilities and patience. The Disney+ series concluded with Wilson finally taking on the mantle of Captain America, setting the stage for Captain America: Brave New World. However, Mackie told RadioTimes that he’s a little disappointed that we won’t be getting season 2 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
“The Falcon and [the] Winter Soldier, I really enjoyed doing that show,” Mackie said. “I was actually excited to do a second season, just so me and Sebastian [Stan] can get paid to hang out. Because it’s like me, him and Daniel Brühl. It’s kind of like the perfect storm of happiness… Anything I can do to hang out with Daniel, a dancing Daniel Brühl, makes me very happy.“

Captain America: Brave New World is going to be released on February 14, 2025, as things stand now as one of the first movies of the MCU’s Phase Five. The movie will star Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America, taking over from Steve Rogers, who was played by Chris Evans in the earlier movies. Now, while Mackie will be joined by some old and some new faces, it seems that MCU veterans Sebastian Stan and Daniel Brühl won’t be returning as Bucky Barnes and Baron Zemo, respectively. The news comes from a recent interview Mackie gave to RadioTimes.
And while Bucky Barnes had a very rough, but greatly executed character development in the series, Zemo was depicted as a villain in the series. Both of them returned for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, an MCU series, and both of them received a big redemption arc in the series,...

Based on Frank Herbert’s acclaimed novel, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films have raked in commercial profits besides enamoring the viewers with a deft adaptation of a colossal source material. Previous efforts in getting the novel(s) brought to the big screen had rendered the premise largely unfilmable.
It’d be wrong to affirm, though, that all attempts to ‘film’ the saga fell short, as in 2000 and 2003, two three-part miniseries on the Sci-Fi Channel saw the triumphant adaptation of Herbert’s first three novels—a feat nothing short of remarkable.
Children of Dune (2003)
At the core of the second series, Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune, was a young, pre-breakout James McAvoy, who played Paul’s son Leto II Atreides. Ahead of Villeneuve’s first Dune film, reflecting on his experience as a part of the on-screen Dune ethos, McAvoy gushed about the filmmaker’s interpretation of the material.

In the sea of upcoming MCU projects ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ certainly stands out due to its seemingly difficult and troubled production. The movie was supposed to be released in 2024, but due to a combination of the SAG-AFTRA strike and necessary extensive reshoots, it’s been delayed for more than a year.
Little is known about the plot of the movie, except for the brief synopsis that was released some time ago. Serpent Society & King Cobra were supposed to be minor villains in the movie but according to the recent rumors, they have been removed from the movie completely.

Daniel Day-Lewis will remain retired from acting, despite best efforts to lure him back. Apparently the actor is also most displeased with “streamers”.
We’ve known for a while that Daniel Day-Lewis, the actor known for roles in films like Phantom Thread, There Will Be Blood and Gangs Of New York, has retired from acting.
Just to be clear, nothing has changed on that front. In fact, we’ve simply got further confirmation that Day-Lewis is not looking to make a comeback of any sorts.

Denis Villeneuve is talking about the “painful choices” he has had to make for Dune: Part Two while adapting the book and cutting the film. Meanwhile, actor Tim Blake Nelson is expressing he’s “heartbroken” after he learned he was edited out of the film’s final cut that premiered to $182.5M worldwide.
The film Dune is based on the 1965 science fiction novel of the same name created by Frank Herbert. In adapting the book to the big screen, the filmmaker told EW, “When you adapt, there’s always some kind of violence toward the original material. You have to change things, you have to bend, you have to make painful choices.”
Some of those choices for the sequel included eliminating Stephen McKinley Henderson’s character. Henderson played Paul Atreides’ (Timothée Chalamet) mentor Thufir Haway who survives the massacre of House Atreides by House Harkonnen and continues to play a role in the book series.

Since the advent of DVDs and Blu-rays, extended cuts for movies have become pretty unanimous in Hollywood. These versions would often come with deleted scenes that were originally cut from the theatrical experience. However, this wasn’t the case with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, which was released back in 2021, and unfortunately for fans, similar will be the case for the sequel.
Following Villeneuve’s decision to not incorporate what he gutted out from the theatrical version, fans now will never be able to live scenes of two characters, who didn’t make it to the final cut.

Actor Tim Blake Nelson had a mystery role in Dune: Part Two, only for his scenes to be excised from Denis Villeneuve’s final cut.
Denis Villeneuve’s swooning space epic Dune: Part Two takes in a quite staggering cast of characters, and much of the film’s marketing in the run up to its release has pivoted on an array of stars, including Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and many more besides.
One name you won’t see in the credits, however, is Tim Blake Nelson, an actor known for his roles in – among other things – O Brother Where Art Thou and Nightmare Alley. According to Nelson, speaking to MovieWeb, he also had a role in Dune: Part Two, but the scene was left out of the final cut.

“Dune: Part Two” features one of the starriest casts in recent memory. From Timothée Chalamet to Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista and more, there’s rarely a scene in the Denis Villeneuve-directed sequel that isn’t filled with star power. The cast was supposed to be even bigger, however, but the filmmaker had to make some cuts to the final edit that left at least one actor “heartbroken.”

Few things are more frustrating when you’re an actor than having your scenes cut from a project. Especially if the project in question is one of the year’s most celebrated releases. Unfortunately for Tim Blake Nelson, his part in Dune: Part Two is on the cutting room floor, and the film’s director, Denis Villeneuve, has no intention of sharing his scenes with audiences. It’s nothing personal; it’s just the way things shook out.
Speaking with Collider about editing the second chapter of his science-fiction opus, Villeneuve said he’s “a strong believer that when it’s not in the movie, it’s dead.” In other words, don’t count on the Blu-ray release for Dune: Part Two to have deleted scenes as part of the physical release’s bonus features. “Sometimes I remove shots and I say, ‘I cannot believe I’m cutting this out.

The blockbuster Dune: Part Two is nearly three hours long, but it could have been even longer. And director Denis Villeneuve says that any cut scenes will not be seen by the public.
“I’m a strong believer that when it’s not in the movie, it’s dead,” the director told Collider when asked if he will release deleted scenes from the film for its upcoming Blu-ray release. “Sometimes I remove shots and I say, ‘I cannot believe I’m cutting this out. I feel like a samurai opening my gut. It’s painful, so I cannot go back after that and create a Frankenstein and try to reanimate things that I killed. It’s too painful. When it’s dead, it’s dead, and it’s dead for a reason. But yes, it is a painful project, but it is my job. The movie prevails. I’m very severe in the editing room.

Short subjects willing to tackle tough subjects made the final cut with the Academy this year. That means audiences buying tickets to the “2024 Oscar Nominated Short Films: Animation” program should brace for poetic treatments of uncomfortable topics, ranging from incest to the Holocaust. Since the toon shorts tend to run short (just an hour to get through the noms), ShortsTV’s theatrical roster includes two additional “highly commended” titles, ending on a musical up note with “The Little Mermaid” co-director John Musker’s “I’m Hip.”

The ensemble cast elevated the proceedings of the film with Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, and Rebecca Ferguson being considered the standout performers of the film.

In addition to these two powerhouses, everyone brought their A-Game to the film and provided the necessary intensity and emotional depth to the epic nature of the film. However, many people are only talking about some particular actors and are sleeping on some of the cast members who do not necessarily have a big role but give amazing performances nonetheless.

Tim Blake Nelson is "heartbroken" that his scene from blockbuster 'Dune: Part Two' was left on the cutting room floor. The 59-year-old actor was left gutted when he found out his contribution to the sequel to Denis Villeneuve's 2021 film adaptation of 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert was cut due to the film being too long. However, he still plans to work with the director again. He told MovieWeb: "I don't think I'm at liberty to say what the scene was. I'd leave that to Denis [Villeneuve] if he wants to talk about it. I had a great time over there shooting it. And then he had to cut it because he thought the movie was too long. And I am heartbroken over that, but there's no hard feelings. I loved it, and I can't wait to do something else with him and we certainly plan to do that.
