The Vicki O'Keefe Memorial Trophy for the Best Actress Under 21, was presented as one of the awards at the Kirklees Drama Festival in March 1991.
Best known for her role as Jane in Threads (1984), which first aired on BBC2 on the 23rd September 1984, to an audience of 6.9 million. It has since gained a cult following.
To research her role as the wheelchair user Letty (1984), she spent time with three young disabled men at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.
She was a prominent member of the Dewsbury Arts Group, which she joined aged eleven. She took part in many stage productions and drama festivals as both an actress and working behind the scenes.
