- Andris Osins was born on July 14, 1935 in Riga, Latvia. He was an actor, known for The Day the Earth Froze (1959). He died on March 13, 2004 in Latvia.
- Was a Forestry Agriculture Academy student active in the faculty's amateur drama group when he was cast in the leading role as Lemminkäinen in The Day the Earth Froze (1959). To his dismay, the preparation for the role and subsequent filming held up his studies for more than 1-1/2 years. It was his only film role.
