One reviewer at Goodreads commented on ReDeus: Divine Tales, “The tales focus on different gods, many I had never heard of before. What I enjoyed most was how the authors dealt with the culture shock experienced by the characters, not just the mortals, who are now lorded over by these mythological figures, but also the gods who must come to grips with a world that has moved on without them. Hope to see future volumes. ”
That wish is being granted in May when Beyond Borders, the second volume in the ReDeus universe is released by Crazy 8 Press to coincide with Balticon. The new book continues a universe that was conceived by co-editors Aaron Rosenberg, Robert Greenberger, and Paul Kupperberg. Initially, the trio of established authors intended to be the only ones to write stories about an Earth that has had every pantheon of gods simultaneously return. Instead, they decided to...

Seattle — The auction for the beleaguered Tully's Coffee chain concluded Friday in federal bankruptcy court, with a judge approving the sale to an ownership group led by actor Patrick Dempsey.
Dempsey – dubbed "McDreamy" in the hospital drama "Grey's Anatomy" – had claimed victory last week after bidding concluded, but a company that teamed up with Starbucks to make an offer for Tully's filed an objection.
AgriNurture Inc. had said it was still willing to proceed with its combined bid with Starbucks Corp. of about $10.6 million. The bid from Dempsey's company, Global Baristas LLC, was for $9.2 million.
At a hearing Friday afternoon, Judge Karen Overstreet said the Jan. 4 auction was fair and no mistakes had been made.
Dempsey said he was "thrilled that we prevailed."

From neurosurgeon to barista? Patrick Dempsey plays a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy, but he has stepped up to help a different kind of patient. The actor announced today he won an auction for Tully’s Coffee, a bankrupt coffee chain based in Seattle, where Grey’s is set. Even though the show is filmed mostly in La, Dempsey has cultivated a fondness for Seattle. Dempsey’s Global Baristas agreed to pay $9.15 million for Tully’s. With adjustments the total is closer to $10 million, Tully’s CEO Scott Pearson said. Dempsey prevailed over Starbucks and other rivals, boasting about it on Twitter last night: “We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and…She Blinked! We got it! Thank you Seattle!” Dempsey has been visiting Tully’s shops today in Seattle. A federal bankruptcy judge still has to confirm his bid and a hearing is scheduled next week.

I wrote a while back, lamenting over not writing much for or about Star Trek these days and it appeared that my involvement in the franchise was going to become a fading memory.
Perhaps I wrote too quickly.
Back in August, I was contacted by an editor at Voyageur Press on the recommendation of fellow Trek writer, and Voyageur employee, Scott Pearson. Grace Labatt kindly asked if I was perhaps interested in tackling an Unauthorized History of Star Trek, tracing not only the TV series but the movies, the spinoffs, the merchandise and most importantly, the fan following that kept the dream alive.
We went back and forth for a while, as I drafted some notes on how to approach such a project so Grace would have something to present to management. Meantime, I asked selected peers about what my writing an unofficial history might do to my moribund relationship...
