The professional dancer made a cameo appearance on HGTV’s “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge”, where she helped design professionals Ty Pennington and Alison Victoria bring their disco-themed living room to life. We’re gonna need more pink! As Mattel’s globally beloved Barbie hits theaters for her first live-action film, HGTV presents Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge, a four-part competition set within a life-size version of the 11.5-inch doll’s iconic abode. The series premieres Sunday, July 16 at 8/7c on the network. “We thought, let’s create a brick-and-mortar location for something that hasn’t existed but [taps] the nostalgia of the people that watch our network,” notes HGTV head of content Loren Ruch, who was also behind 2019’s equally evocative A Very Brady Renovation. “Then we [added] a competition layer.” Hosted by model and past Barbie inspiration Ashley Graham, the series tasks eight pairs of celebrity designers—including Egypt Sherrod, Ty Pennington, Alison Victoria, and Food Network’s Antonia Lofaso (Beachside Brawl)—with tricking out an assigned space in a Barbie-worthy Los Angeles–area manse. The doll was introduced in 1959, so each area corresponds...

ABC is developing a new version of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, best known as the co-founders of the lifestyle brand The Home Edit, will serve as hosts of the new version of the show should it move forward. The show currently has the same title as the original, but that is a working title at this time.
As with the original show, each episode will see the hosts meet a family that needs a new home or major renovations to their current home. The hosts will then work with a team of builders, designers, and contractors to reshape the house to the family’s needs.
Shearer and Teplin founded The Home Edit in 2015. The brand has proven incredibly popular, with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media, acquiring it in 2022.

Paulina Porizkova claps back at a cosmetic surgeon for their unwarranted ideas about what procedures she needs. Pic credit: @paulinaporizkov/Instagram
Former Sports Illustrated model Paulina Porizkova is fed up with a cosmetic surgeon’s suggestions on how to “fix” her face.
The 57-year-old former supermodel has been accepting her age and looks for quite some time, instilling confidence in herself and others by using phrases such as “sexy has no expiration date,” “somewhere between JLo and Betty White,” and “you’re beautiful just the way you are.”
She posted Friday morning that she had come across a video on Instagram where a cosmetic surgeon posted one of her selfies and began going over what needed to be fixed.
The post has since been deleted, as she noted, “I was looking for it this morning to post the repost,” but is fed up with having to deal with these unwarranted suggestions about looks.

The appraisals are in, and the team of Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt have won HGTV’s “Rock the Block” Season 2!
Yes, you read that right. The Kleinschmidts, who did not win a single individual challenge, took the whole damn thing. Their craftsman-style fun and functional home, appraised for $625,000.
Perhaps it was the basement bowling alley. (You also read that right.)
Ok, it definitely wasn’t the mini lanes — at least not from an appraisal standpoint. The Kleinschmidts definitely had the best backyard space, and their double dishwashers, dream laundry room and converted third-car garage might have sealed the deal.

Ty Pennington’s new HGTV series “Ty Breaker” has a pretty cool concept and a really good title — so which came first, the idea or the pun? TheWrap asked the “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” alum exactly that.
“The concept for the show came first and once we realized how important a big change to a certain area of the family’s home was … we realized it really was the ‘Ty Breaker’ in which design they eventually chose to go with,” Pennington told TheWrap. “And let’s face it — it’s a great title (laughs).”
“Here’s the crazy part, right? I don’t think there has ever been a show that, like, the person’s name — on HGTV — was in the title,” Pennington said. “So the fact that they did it, I was blown away. I was like, wow, that’s a bold move.”
