Not all Nascar people are siding with Trump -- with Dale Earnhardt Jr. throwing his support behind NFL protesters ... despite several Nascar owners bashing them. After Potus said NFL owners should fire any "son of a bitch" who takes a knee, two of the most powerful men in Nascar gave major stamps of approval. Richard Petty said, "Anybody that don’t stand up for that ought to be out of the country. Period." Team owner...

Mickey Rooney's children have filed suit in Los Angeles seeking that his will be invalidated, claiming the legendary actor faced "undue influence" when he signed it just weeks before his death. His biological children are not named as beneficiaries to his estate, now valued at $18,000 but potentially worth considerably more in the future from licensing rights and memorabilia, including an Oscar. Instead, the beneficiary is Mark Aber, Rooney's stepson and caretaker in his final days. Rooney died April 6 at age 93. The May 7 Superior Court filing, by seven of his eight surviving children, alleges that Aber and the estate's current executor,...

In Friday's (March 14) episode of Animal Planet's "Tanked," aquarium experts Wayde King and Brett Raymer of the Las Vegas-based Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (Atm) head to Statesville, N.C., to meet a racing legend and help rescue some of God's critters.
Newman, who drives for Richard Childress Racing, and his wife, Krissie, own Rescue Ranch, a non-profit animal-welfare organization founded in January 2012, which helps to end pet overpopulation and provide humane care.
Atm takes on the challenge of creating a desk-shaped freshwater tank for Newman, that not only features fish but reproductions of some of his favorite pets -- such as a bulldog, a Laborador retriever, rabbits, turtles and snakes -- all surrounding a realistic-looking Nascar helmet.
"He bought 200 acres for his wife," King tells Zap2it, "and they save animals. They bring them to the ranch, and they have an education program so that kids can learn about the animals and touch them.

Richard Petty isn’t backing down from his criticism of Danica Patrick’s racing abilities and has accepted the challenge to race against Patrick that Tony Stewart had suggested.
Richard Petty Accepts Challenge To Race Danica Patrick
"I'm 76 years old, ok?" Petty said on Fox News Channel. "It's been 25 years since I've been in a race car. But I'll take that challenge."
When the surprised hosts asked, "Really? You're going to do it, Richard?,” Petty assured them, "Oh yeah. When is this going to happen?"
The idea for the challenge came about after Petty, who is a seven-time Nascar champion, claimed that Patrick’s gender, rather than her skills, is the reason why she’s a known name in the sport. "If she'd have been a male, nobody would ever know if she'd showed up at a race track," Petty told Fox and Friends. "This is a female deal that's driving her.

You'd think the world of junior go-karting would be a bit... insular.
Perhaps it is. But in the hands of documentary director Marshall Curry and his three speedy protagonists, it's also a world of discipline, purpose, socialising and competitiveness, where we get to know as much about the knotty world between childhood and adolescence as we do about racing turns.
Brandon Warren, 13, is one of the three drivers determined to follow his racing dream all the way to Nascar
Curry had the good luck, or skill, to chart his film Racing Dreams through the eyes of three characters - Annabeth, Brandon and Josh - whose charm, character, humour and expressiveness would have made them stars with or without the mini-chariot and their dreams of one day racing at Nascar.
"These drivers make a decision and they don't look back. That's how life goes - you make a decision and you don't look back.
