Puppies have had the spotlight for too long! It’s time for the big dogs to get a shot.
This year, on Feb. 3, Animal Planet is premiering the first-ever Dog Bowl. The pooch-packed event is similar to Puppy Bowl, but instead of baby dogs on the field, the gridiron is full of dogs over the age of 2.
All of the pup players are adoptable and come from rescues across the country, including those that saved dogs from 2017’s natural disasters.
This is a big moment for older canines everywhere, who often have a harder time being adopted, as well as...

Ten years ago, the last horse slaughter plant operating in the United States closed its doors.
This September, however, an amendment set to reach the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives will determine the fate of America’s horses and whether taxpayers will be funding the return of this cruel, unnecessary and predatory industry.
In a letter to Congress, the Humane Society Legislative Fund and The Humane Society of the United States, along with William Shatner, Kaley Cuoco, Willie Nelson, Jill Rappaport, Nikki Reed, Sebastian Roche, Ian Somerhalder, Arielle Kebbel and others, urged policy makers to pass an amendment in the Agriculture Appropriations bill that prohibits the use of federal funds to inspect horse slaughter facilities.
“Horse slaughter is a dark and predatory industry. It has never provided a solution for unwanted horses or abuse and encourages overbreeding by providing an artificial disposal option for irresponsible breeders and owners,...

Latest: Former supermodel Christie Brinkley is planning to leave her New York home and start a new life in California after her divorce trial.
The star's high-drama divorce from Peter Cook, currently being played out in a Manhattan courtroom, has seen her estranged husband accused of adultery and of hiding a costly pornography habit.

The second day of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook's divorce trial began just as dramatically as the first. Taking the stand in a Long Island, N.Y., courtroom, Brinkley testified about "the day my world was completely shattered" – the day she learned that husband Cook was having an affair with a teenager. On June 25, 2006, just after the supermodel delivered the commencement speech at Southampton High School, Diana Bianchi's police officer stepfather tapped her on the shoulder, Brinkley, 54, testified, and told her her husband wouldn't leave Bianchi, his then-assistant, alone. "I turned to look at Peter. His face was so tense ... he was saying,...

The war of words between Christie Brinkley and her estranged husband Peter Cook has gotten as ugly as a certain famous ogre. When asked what he thought of his estranged wife Christie Brinkley’s teary testimony in their bitter divorce trial on Thursday morning, Cook quipped to People, "Shrek was more believable than that." Cook's lawyer Norman Sheresky was also dismissive of Brinkley's testimony. "I think her performance was a performance," Sheresky said during the trial's lunch break. "She's a good actress. It's been two years. She should be past this by now." In response to Cook's comment, Brinkley's attorney Robert Stephan Cohen told People,...

Jennifer Aniston was amazed when Catherine Keener shielded her from a reporter on Today, after the journalist persistently questioned Aniston over reported wedding plans. Yesterday's interview grew tense when Jill Rappaport asked the former Friends actress to comment on reports talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is planning to throw an $8 million wedding for the star and her new boyfriend Vince Vaughn. The actresses were appearing on the show to promote their upcoming movie Friends with Money, but the interview inevitably turned to Aniston's personal life. Rappaport asked the intrusive question just moments after Aniston had expressed reluctance to talk about her private life. Keener snapped, "I thought you weren't going to go there?" But the reporter persisted, saying she was curious because she had never been to an $8 million wedding, only for Keener to bite back with, "And now you won't be." Aniston remained tight-lipped throughout the debacle.
