“The Lion King,” a Disney Media Franchise, commemorated its 26th anniversary this past June. It is a genuine archetypal that can captivate audiences of all ages. The first Lion King film in the series was produced in 1994.
According to Environment Weekly, there were more than 600 animators involved in the production of “The Lion King” including animators, technicians, and other crucial figures. In fact, every moment was arduously explored, reorganized, and refined again which cost a lot of money, time, and a lot of headaches. And here’s the result – the great movie “The Lion King.”
The key to its success comes from its skilfully constructed characters who frequently walk and act like their real-life equivalents. The real-life lions were brought to the studio for the animators to study.

Annecy, France — Paramount Animation’s presentation of “Wonder Park” at the Annecy Festival packed a large interest. It was the first Annecy for DreamWorks Animation veteran Mireille Soria since she was appointed president of Paramount Animation by Jim Gianapaolos in July 2017. People were keen to know what she’d say about where she wanted to take the division.
Also, after several years absent from most international events, Spain animation made an impressive splash at March’s Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux. The big film missing there was Paramount Animation’s “Wonder Park,” whose animation vendor and co-producer – along with Nickelodeon Movies – was Madrid’s Ilion Animation Studios. Clips of “Wonder Park” and a song featured at cinema.con. But Annecy’s sneak peek promised a far deeper drill down.

Disney’s two sequels to its timeless animated film The Lion King, The Lion King 1.5 (2004) and The Lion King 2 (1998), were released on Blu-ray and DVD on Oct. 4, 2011, but only in a mega-priced The Lion King Trilogy set, so it’s great to see them get their own separate releases.
Both of the G-rated animated sequels feature the voices of Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) as the young lion Simba, Nathan Lane (Stuart Little) as Timon and Ernie Sabella (TV’s House of Mouse) as Pumbaa.
In The Lion King 1 1/2, Timon and Pumbaa tell where they came from and explain what really happened during the big events of the franchise’s first movie.
In The Lion King 2, Timon and Pumbaa have a new cub in their life, Kiara, the strong-willed daughter of now-grownup Simba.

The execs at Disney know a successful marketing opportunity when they see one. Tinker Bell is proof of that. The diminutive fairy character from Peter Pan is Disney's answer to Strawberry Shortcake. Just like the American Greetings property, she has become the center of a highly profitable franchise. Disney's own press release for the latest film in the Tinker Bell series, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, proudly states that Disney’s Fairies franchise is worth $1 billion. So, Both on the outside both Miss Shortcake and Miss Bell look like innocent fantasy females. Yet, their twee exterior is the friendly face of a massive corporate machine designed to get kids to part with their parents' money for a range of products that carry the characters' images.
Ok, I'm deliberately being jaded here to underline the point that Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is not classic Disney. It's...

The Secret In Their Eyes (18)
(Juan José Campanella, 2009, Argentina/Spain) Ricardo Darín, Soledad Villamil, Pablo Rago. 129 mins.
Having elbowed aside the favourite (Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon) and the stalking horse (Jacques Audiard's A Prophet) to win last year's Oscar for Best Foreign Film, Campanella's relatively unlauded entry has a lot to live up to. But thankfully it delivers, being a handsome, smart, adult mystery, in which a retired legal counsellor (Darín) delves into the past to deal with an unresolved murder case. The surprise is not so much that it won the Oscar but how much it resembles the classy, sexually charged Hollywood thrillers of the 70s and 80s, from Klute to Sea Of Love. Maybe if Tom Cruise made films like this instead of the gormless Knight And Day he might reconnect with his grown-up fanbase. But then, the studios are too busy kowtowing to the...

Soledad O’Brien brought her girls — Cecelia, 8, and Sofia, 9½ — to the Seventh Annual Wayuu Taya Foundation Gala, held Thursday at the Stephen Weiss Studio in New York City.
The In America host, 43, is also mom to 5½-year-old twin sons Charlie and Jackson with husband Bradley Raymond.
“They are allowed to watch the news, and I watch it with them,” O’Brien tells People Moms & Babies of her work.
“I think it’s only scary when there’s no context. When you’re seven or eight years old and you have no one to question, you need some reassurance.

One of the biggest releases this week comes in the form of Disney's "Tinker Bell" on Blu-ray as well as the standard widescreen version. Naturally, the Blu-ray would be the one to go for in terms of visual quality. Bradley Raymond, helmer of "The Lion King 1½" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame II," directs from the writing by Jeffrey M. Howard based on the much-belobed characters created by J.M. Barrie. Enter the magical world of fairies and meet the enchanting creatures of Pixie Hollow, who "nurture nature" and bring about the change of the seasons. Changing the colors of the leaves, moving a sunbeam to melt snow, waking animals from their winter slumber, or giving a patch of sproutlings a sprinkle of water are all within the realm of these...
