Hollyoaks will celebrate its most memorable moments of the year in an E4 special next month, it has been revealed. An hour-long retrospective to be screened at Christmas will look back at the best bits of 2011 and offer a sneak peek at 2012, Broadcast reports. Channel 4 has commissioned a fourth series of Hollyoaks Later, it has been announced. The late-night E4 spinoff show will return to screens in the autumn, airing as another week-long run of five hour-long episodes in a 9pm timeslot. This year's Hollyoaks Later will be produced by the main soap's series editor Claire Fryer alongside Hollyoaks' executive producers Tony Wood and Carolyn Reynolds. Hollyoaks' script editor Gareth Philips has been promoted as the soap's acting producer, replacing Paul Marquess following his 12-month stint at the helm of the show. Philips - who joined the programme's production team last year - will work alongside executive producers Carolyn Reynolds and Tony Wood as Hollyoaks undergoes further transformation in the year ahead. Speaking of his new role, Philips commented: "I have really enjoyed working in the script team at Hollyoaks and it will be a huge honour to take the reins of Channel 4's flagship youth drama. "I am very excited about taking the show even further this year with more compelling and brave stories."
