Among Borat’s many very nice services is his habit of revealing grotesque misogyny, as Pamela Anderson found out firsthand when Sacha Baron Cohen’s most famous character saved her from moving in with Kid Rock.
As Anderson reveals in her new memoir Love, Pamela (via Rolling Stone), she and Kid Rock, aka Robert Ritchie, were ready to enter a serious phase of their relationship — that is, until they witnessed an advance screening of the 2006 film Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
“We were about to move in, until the premiere of Borat,” she wrote. “The screening at Ron and Kelly Meyer’s house didn’t go well. Lots of important industry people were there — Steven Spielberg, Rick Rubin, Laird Hamilton and his wife, Gabby Reece. I didn’t tell Bob I was in the movie, because I wanted to surprise him.”

The Federal Election Commission (Fec) formally dismissed complaints it received against Kid Rock after the rocker teased a Michigan senate run. In a ruling released this week, the Fec determined Rock did not appear “to have taken even the most basic steps to become a candidate.”
In 2017, Rock hinted that he’d enter the 2018 Michigan senatorial race, using his concerts as a pulpit to voice his political beliefs, launching a campaign website and even selling “Kid Rock for Senate” merchandise.

Musician and potential Gop Senate candidate Kid Rock took a strong stand Friday in defense of the women who have accused Hollywood titan Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct. “I do not know all the women who have come forward per the New York Times piece on Harvey Weinstein and I am not a fan of many of them, in many ways, especially of their politics,” Rock, whose birth name is Robert Ritchie, wrote in a blog post to his website. “But I applaud their courage to come forward and support them all 100 percent.” For some reason I feel compelled to speak.

Kid Rock is not taking allegations that his potential bid for U.S. Senate may run afoul of campaign laws lightly. Or maybe he is. The “Devil Without a Cause” musician fired off a salty-tongued reply on Friday, after a lawsuit was filed suggesting that the rocker-rapper’s possible Senate run might violate campaign law, stating, in part, “go f–k yourselves.” “I am starting to see reports from the misinformed press and the fake news on how I am in violation of breaking campaign law,” Kid Rock — real name Robert Ritchie — said in a statement provided to TheWrap on Friday.

Kid Rock’s plan to run for U.S. Senate might be hitting a bump in the road: it’s not immediately clear if the singer’s stage moniker would be allowed on the ballot. He might be required to run under his far less-recognizable born name, Robert Ritchie. According to Michigan law, candidates cannot use any “nickname that is not a recognized diminutive of the candidate’s given name.” However, if Ritchie is able to gather enough signatures to make the ballot and indicates he wishes to run under his stage name, the Michigan Bureau of Elections would have...

Most of Aaron Sorkin’s professional life has been spent making political debates — both personal and public — into poetically entertaining and informative exchanges. In “The West Wing,” he did it every week. Josh and Toby would fight it out until one was proven the victor or a compromise was reached. In “The Newsroom,” Will McAvoy would lambaste politicians, and his reports would often lead to various ethical conversations with his staff.
The point is, Aaron Sorkin knows a thing or two about winning a debate, and our current presidential candidates could learn from his work. We’ve examined the most pertinent examples of debate procedures, and the points below represent key strategies for winning a verbal battle. Apply them wisely.

Detroit -- Tips from the public led to the arrest on Saturday of a 43-year-old suburban Detroit man following an attempted burglary of a home owned by musician Kid Rock.
The man was arrested at his home in Oakland County's Independence Township, north of Detroit, according to Undersheriff Michael McCabe.
Two tips were made to the sheriff's dispatch center, McCabe said in a release.
The arrest came after surveillance photos from security cameras on Kid Rock's property in Clarkston were released this weekend. The photos showed a man ramming the gate Wednesday afternoon and trying to break into the house. He also was on crutches and failed to get in.
A 1994 Ford Club Wagon van, which was used to force open the gated driveway to the property, also was recovered and impounded.
Born Robert Ritchie, Kid Rock's music is a blend of hip-hop, hard rock, country and Southern rock.

Detroit -- This time last year, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra was about a month removed from a contentious musicians' strike that worsened its already strained finances. Now, the rebounding organization aims to raise the roof – and hopefully $1 million – with help from a hometown musician known more for rock, rap and country than classical.
The orchestra will collaborate with Kid Rock on Saturday in a benefit concert at the Fox Theatre, down the street from the ensemble's Orchestra Hall home. Tickets start at $100, though VIP tickets fetch as much as $1,500 and include an afterparty with the genre-jumping artist who still lives in suburban Detroit.
Rock, who was born Robert Ritchie and grew up in Macomb County, Mich., is volunteering his services. So are Detroit Symphony Music Director Leonard Slatkin and orchestra members. Proceeds will help pay symphony musicians for community outreach and education efforts.

Detroit -- Rapper-rocker Kid Rock – incensed over a column questioning where the musician's "Made in Detroit" line of T-shirts actually are made – lashed out at the writer in an expletive-laced letter on the company's website.

Kid Rock has found love again after his divorce from Pamela Anderson - but he's keeping his new girlfriend's identity a secret. The rocker, real name Robert Ritchie, married the "Baywatch" beauty in 2006 but their relationship ended just a year later in 2007.
Kid Rock has since moved on with a new woman - but he refuses to name her because he wants to keep their relationship from the media spotlight. When asked if he's dating "anyone special", he tells Piers Morgan, "Yes. You know what happens - you put these people out there, and you declare your love for them and the press gets interested and sometimes it destroys somebody else's life. What if that doesn't work out for that other person?"
He adds, "This is somebody who is not a celebrity, it can really be a tough thing to deal with. I'm thinking of somebody else (and) trying not to be so selfish.
