Duncan Rouleau, creator of Sonic Prime, offered a potentially discouraging update for fans of the animated series.
Sonic Prime has proven to be popular in its run on Netflix. The series offers a fresh take on everyone’s favorite hedgehog and his band of colorful companions.
The series, which deals heavily with the Multiverse, offers many alternate universe doppelgängers of well-known characters and just dropped its third season. Still, fans are already hoping for a Season 4.

Refresh for updates Stan Lee is being remembered as a genius, an inspiration and a hero “for making people who feel different realize they are special,” as Seth Rogen put it. “There will never be another Stan Lee,” tweeted Chris Evans.
“Damn…Rip Stan,” wrote Ryan Reynolds. “Thanks for everything.”
Tom Rothman, Chairman, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group, said in a statement, “Original and genius are two very overused words in the world today, but Stan was both. Add irrepressible and irreplaceable, and you begin to describe the man. We have all lost a true superhero. We will greatly miss our friendly neighborhood Stan Lee.”
Geoff Johns, producer, author and former chief creative officer at DC Entertainment, told Deadline, “I’m incredibly saddened to hear about to hear about Stan Lee’s passing. He was obviously a genius, the creator of so many wonderful characters, worlds and universes.

Ahead of the first issue release, I caught up with Joe Casey to talk about what we can expect from the new series, teaming up with Ulises Farinas, and being in a metal state of mind. Even though many enduring elements that we now associate with Superman were products of the Silver Age or the 1940’s radio drama, it’s important that we never forget the contributions that Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster made to comic books – and pop culture as a whole – when they created the Man of Steel for Action Comics #1 back in 1938. After all, that served as the very blueprint for the superhero genre as we know it today.
With that, one could say that the character’s 80th anniversary being celebrated by the release of the one-thousandth issue of Action is a bit too poetic. And appropriately enough, DC is complementing the periodical release of said issue with a commemorative hardcover titled Action Comics #1000: 80 Years of Superman. Suffice it to say, this is shaping up to be a must-own for any fan of Big Blue.
Understandably, many of you reading this...

Heading off to summer camp can be a scary experience, especially when you accidentally go to one built for monsters. Teen camper Skye takes a fun approach to a frightening situation in Camp Midnight, the new graphic novel from Man of Action’s Steven T. Seagle and artist Jason Adam Katzenstein. With the fun-for-all-ages Camp Midnight hitting shelves today from Image Comics, we caught up with the Seagle and Katzenstein to discuss the relatable elements of their supernatural story, real-life summer camp inspirations, and much more.
Camp Midnight started as a 2014 Comic-Con exclusive comic called The Bus: A Camp Midnight Mini. What convinced you guys to turn it into a full-length graphic novel?
Steven T. Seagle: It’s more the other way around. Camp Midnight is an original, 240-page book, and given our “day jobs,” Jason and I could only do about seven pages a week max. So the...

Disney's Big Hero 6 was a great movie, and I was hoping that we'd get to see a sequel somewhere down the road. It's an exciting time to be a Man of Action fan. The consistently innovative and impressively productive studio / writers' collective has intriguing upcoming projects on the printed page and onscreen, and at San Diego Comic-Con, Daily Dead caught up with Joe Kelly, Joe Casey, Steven T. Seagle, and Duncan Rouleau, who discussed the Camp Midnight graphic novel, the respective feature films for Officer Downe and I Kill Giants, as well as Big Hero 6 and more.
As per usual with you guys, it's been another busy year for the Man of Action team. Your Comic-Con exclusive comic book from last year, The Bus: A Camp Midnight Mini, is being expanded into a 256-page graphic novel that will be released in time for Halloween. Steven, how did Camp Midnight make the transition from mini comic to full-length graphic novel?
Steven T. Seagle: The mini comic was actually a bit of a ruse.

Are you ready to slay monsters? If not, Chris Columbus will try to sway your opinion.
/Film reported that Columbus is attached to adapt I Kill Giants, based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Joe Kelly and J.M. Niimura. Oscar winner Anders Walter is directing, and Treehouse Pictures will finance.
Originally published as a limited series between 2008 and 2009, I Kill Giants centers around a young outsider named Barbara Thorson. Her inability to fit in makes her life difficult, and she copes by escaping into a fantasy in which giants are real and it’s her job to stop them.
Walter is known for his 2013 film Helium, which won Best Live-Action Short at the 2014 Academy Awards. According to the site, Kelly will write the script as well as produce. He is part of the Man of Action Entertainment writers collective that also includes Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle.

Hitting our shores in a few short weeks, Big Hero 6 presents the Marvel Universe through the Walt Disney Animation Studios lens, being the first full on adaption by Disney of a Marvel Comics property. Without any involvement from Marvel Studios, this obscure comic book team, who first saw the light of day in 1998, was a blank slate for the Disney Animation team, but instead of totally pulling asunder what came before, the core themes and characters were kept intact, while necessary changes were made to suit the new medium. But just where do these heroes come from? Created by Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle (two fifths of Man of Action, the team behind popular kids cartoon Ben 10), Big Hero 6 haven't had much in the way of exposure in their history, with only two miniseries (one in 1998, and then one again ten years later) and a handful...

So the wife and I celebrated our five years doin’ it legal style with an Iron Chef dinner followed by Big Hero 6. If you don’t get how awesome that is, then you don’t understand why I married my wife. Our meal was fantastic. The movie? Dare I say it… just as good.
Big Hero 6 is a big, wide-eyed action-adventure that skews towards the young at heart. Born by way of a not-really-well-known Marvel series (c. 1998, and then again in 2008) turned inside-out into a brand new property for the House of Mouse. The team behind Frozen – that flick about the Nordic chic who opted to not live at Professor X’s house – and Wreck-It Ralph, provided the visuals. Joe Kelly, Steven T. Seagle, and Duncan Rouleau provided the script.
The flick itself is power-struggle between slick and polished style, and throaty topics that are typical to Disney kids fare.

Big Hero 6 is the first Disney film based on a Marvel comic, but the marketing campaign isn't making a big deal out of it. That's by design—the studio intentionally sought out an obscure property so they could make it their own, free of any sort of expectation from audiences. This strategy shows in the final product: While the film's characters do have comic book counterparts, they are very, very different from their predecessors. And the film is so much better for it. The super-team known as Big Hero 6 only ever appeared in its own comic book series...

Originality, inspiration, heart, life lessons, and exciting animation, Big Hero 6 has it all as the first big screen collaboration between Marvel Studios and Disney Animation.
Welcome to San Fransokyo, where technology and robotics have become part of the nuts and bolts of our culture. Tadashi Hamada (Daniel Henney) is a student at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. He invented and developed Baymax, a personal healthcare robot who is amazing not only for his thorough service, but he is inflatable. But this story is less about them, and more about Hiro (Ryan Potter), Tadashi’s 14-year old brother, who likes to dwell in the underground, back-alley bot fights, hustling for money. He uses his big brains in ways that will get him by, but never ahead. One of the things that fanboys asked the moment Marvel was sold to Disney was, "Does this mean we'll see Pixar superhero movies?" With Brad Bird currently working on a screenplay for "The Incredibles 2," Pixar has no need to get into the Marvel business, and Marvel's live-action movies are so successful that I can't really imagine them handling over a viable franchise to an animated division. Walt Disney Feature Animation was given permission to go through Marvel's vast catalog of characters to see if there was anything in there that they might spark to, anything they could make their own, and when they found "Big Hero 6," an obscure team book created by Duncan Rouleau (aka "Man Of Action") and Steven T. Seagle, they found their way in. Right now, it feels like Wdfa is on a roll. You can divide the history of Disney animation into eras, and...

Walt Disney Animation has been on a serious roll the last few years. Starting with the fairy tale Tangled in 2010, the company has put out the critically-acclaimed Winnie The Pooh in 2011, the hit Wreck-It Ralph in 2012, and the phenomenon that is Frozen in 2013. So how can they possibly top themselves for 2014? How about combining creative forces with one of the biggest brands in modern Hollywood? Marvel Comics. Big Hero 6 is the next feature coming your way from the legendary animation company, and earlier this summer I got to be a part of a very special a behind the scenes look at the film. Inspired by though not directly based on the comics created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau, Big Hero 6 begins in the fictional city of San Fransokyo and follows the story of Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter), a young robotics prodigy. With the support and inspiration...

Marvel Comics' editor-in-chief has explained the publisher's lack of Big Hero 6 promotions.
The company has not released any tie-in comics in the run-up to the release of the Disney animation.
Axel Alonso said that the film is so far from the comics it is based on that pushing them would be "a disservice to filmgoers".
"There are no plans," he told Cbr.
"The characters and stories that have appeared in our comics are very different from what they are in the film. Releasing material that would be viewed as movie tie-in product would be a disservice to filmgoers.
"We wanted the Disney folks to be able to create their own unique style and story, unencumbered by those older stories."

Last weekend at Comic-Con, I had a chance to interview Man of Action’s Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau, along with artist Jason Adam Katzenstein. Not only did we discuss their Sdcc-exclusive comic book, The Bus: A Camp Midnight Mini, but and I was able to learn about their involvement in Disney and Marvel’s Big Hero 6.
Daily Dead readers will really enjoy what you guys put together for The Bus: A Camp Midnight Mini comic book. How did this project come together?
Steven T. Seagle: I met Jason through a mutual friend, Daryl Sabara. With Comic-Con being so much about movies and TV shows, I thought it would be fun to have a comic at Comic-Con.
Can you tell our readers a little bit about this new story you’ve created?

Think that Iron Man is getting a little paunchy for the robotic costume? Worried about the crows-feet peeking out from behind Captain America's mask? Well, get ready for some fresh blood, as the next generation of superhero is preparing to take to the big screen this fall.
That's when Walt Disney Animation Studios, coming off of the record-breaking success of "Frozen," unleashes "Big Hero 6," a film based on a cult Marvel property (by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau). And we've got the brand new trailer, as well as an exclusive interview with filmmakers Chris Williams (who helmed "Bolt") and Don Hall (the filmmaker behind 2011's criminally underrated "Winnie the Pooh").
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of the relationship between Hiro (Ryan Potter), a teenage genius who, along with his inflatable robot Baymax (Scott Adsit from "30 Rock"), set out to create a new team of fresh-faced heroes.

This fall, Disney and Marvel will team up to bring audiences Big Hero 6, a younger-skewing superhero adventure adapted from the characters of the same name who were first created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau in the pages of Alpha Flight. Early signs indicate that Big Hero 6 will provide ample entertainment for pre-teens in the audience, but older comic-book fans may have reason to be excited as well, based on the character descriptions just unveiled by Disney.
Though the target demographic for Big Hero 6 is clearly young, the characters who make up the titular team seem surprisingly interesting. Below, you can check out some promo images and descriptions for the characters. I’ve also put the descriptions right here:

This fall, Disney Animation and Marvel will team up for the first time on the big screen with Big Hero 6, a tween-targeted adaptation of the superhero team originally created by Steven T. Recently, we discovered a new piece of information about Big Hero 6, one that, though expected, is at least nice to have confirmed.
In the pages of Total Film, director Don Hall articulated that, though Big Hero 6 is a Marvel property, we shouldn’t be expecting the Avengers or any other superheroes to be making an appearance in the movie and subsequent sequels:

If it's one thing that's abundantly clear, based on the marketing materials released so far for Disney's animated superhero romp "Big Hero 6," it's that the movie's inflatable robot Baymax is really, really, ridiculously cute.

To that end, he outfits his squishy helper robot Baymax with armor so that he can also become a hero. Hilarious hijinks undoubtedly ensue.

It has somehow become common practice for studios to actually release teasers previewing larger trailers to come, and the upcoming Marvel and Disney collaboration Big Hero 6 is no exception. Disney rolled out an 18-second teaser yesterday, along with a new poster and a set of images, and today sees the arrival of the actual trailer.
In the preview, which you can check out below, we see protagonist Hiro Hamada, a 13-year-old robotics prodigy, turn Baymax, his lumpy best friend and protector, into an armored super-robot (after ordering the appropriate parts on his tablet, of course). The scene shows off Big Hero 6‘s impressively smooth and colorful animation while also focusing on the humor of the film’s two lead characters. Baymax is cuddly and childlike, while Hiro is an enthusiastic young scientist – between the two of them, Big Hero 6 should have no problem drawing in the preteen crowd and their parents.

While this weekend's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is the current Marvel movie that everyone is talking about (and arguing over), with August's sci-fi-y "Guardians of the Galaxy" coming in a close second (it looks so good!), there's another Marvel property that will be coming to the big screen later this year that has the possibility of out-charming all of them: Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Big Hero 6." It should come as no surprise that Marvel Entertainment's growing presence on page and screen means more time reading scripts and memos for Joe Quesada. Marvel's ever airborne Chief Creative Officer recently sat down with Comic Book Resources to discuss his newly evolved role and how his roots in comic production prepared him for the breakneck pace of a weekly television series like "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Says Quesada: "I enjoy the fact that during the course of the week—almost on a daily basis—I'm reading something that's coming from the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' writing or production crew. Sometimes it's a brief on an episode or the latest draft of a script or a rough cut of a future episode or the dailies, which come, well, daily. Whatever it is that I'm getting, there's a constant flow of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' stuff in my inbox.

Horror fans may know Steven T. Seagle and Teddy Kristiansen from their work on House of Secrets, but they’ve worked together on a number of projects, including It’s a Bird and the recently released Genius. I had a chance to catch up with the both of them at Comic-Con and learned about the real life story that inspired Genius, their creative process, and their thoughts on a Genius movie:
Where did the idea of Genius come from? Was this something you had been thinking about for a while?
Steven T. Seagle: Teddy and I worked together on It’s a Bird, which was semi-autobiographical. It was about my family’s struggle with Huntington’s Disease set against the sci-fi element of a perfect physical being. It was about disease making you a less perfect human and the idea of Superman, who is undefeatable and perfect. That kind...
