“World of Dance” ended it second season on Wednesday night, September 12, by crowning the winner of the World Final (Spoiler Alert). When all was said and done the young hip-hop crew The Lab edged out Michael Dameski, S-Rank, and Charity and Andres for the million-dollar grand prize. And it’s a testament to the power of second chances. The Lab previously competed on the show in season one, but they were eliminated during the Cut. So which season-two standouts would you most like to see return to the show next year in season three? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
The Lab weren’t the only second-chance contestants this season. S-Rank team members Melvin Timtim and Josh Price competed with different crews in season one, but neither of them made it as far as they did this year. Sean Lew of Sean and Kaycee, who were eliminated in the Divisional Final,...

The “World of Dance” Duels continued for the third week on Wednesday night, August 8, but were the results as dramatic as they have been for the last two weeks? Follow along with our live blog below for all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The first week of the Duels ended with an upset: first-season runner-up and fan-favorite Eva Igo was eliminated after the Junior Division duo of Avery and Marcus unexpectedly outscored her in their head-to-head match-up. That demonstrated just how much more intense the competition has gotten just from one season to the next. So all of this year’s competitors need to stay on their toes — literally.
The second week of Duels ended with a bang too. It wasn’t a surprise victory, but there was a historic score. Junior Division duo Charity and Andres set the standard for all other teams — and for themselves going forward...

There are more Duels tonight on “World of Dance,” and it’s all just a little bit of history repeating. The show has released a sneak peek of the face-off between Junior Division contemporary dancer Vivian Ruiz and dynamic duo Charity and Andres. Sound familiar? It’s a lot like last week when Junior Division contemporary dancer Eva Igo faced dynamic duo Avery and Marcus. That Duel ended in an upset, but what about this one? Watch the battle above, and let us know who you think deserves to win by voting in our poll at the bottom of this post.
With Igo surprisingly eliminated last week, the door is open for Ruiz to make a name for herself as a solo contemporary dancer on the “World of Dance” stage. But judging from the scores from the qualifying round Ruiz had her work cut out for her. In week six...

“This move doesn’t really have a name because I made it up myself, but you’ll see it in one of my performances,” says “World of Dance” standout Vivian Ruiz, who demonstrates one of the tricks she’ll be showing off in one of her performances. Watch it above in a special online exclusive video from the NBC competition series
Her “move of the week” is an especially acrobatic maneuver in which she does a spin while raising one leg over her head and threading the other arm through it. She slows it down to show viewers how we can do it ourselves, and it’s kind of her if she thinks a significant portion of the viewing audience has the training or flexibility to pull it off. I might literally pull my leg right off if I dared to try it.

Hell hath no fury like a dancer scorned. 16-year-old contemporary dancer Vivian Ruiz performed on “World of Dance” during “The Qualifiers 6” shortly after suffering a heartbreak. Her boyfriend broke up with her via text message, and “two days later I saw him post a picture on Instagram with another girl — also a dancer.” Ouch.
Ruiz’s performance was inspired by that breakup, but how did this emotional routine compare to one of “World of Dance’s” breakout stars, fellow Junior Division contemporary dancer Eva Igo? She was last year’s runner-up and has returned to the show for season two, which gives Ruiz a lot to live up to. Watch Ruiz’s performance above, and find out what the judges thought of her performance below.
Derek Hough: “I was a romantic when I was 16-years-old, so I can understand how that feels — dropping tears in letters, it was kind of embarrassing.

“World of Dance” was off last week due to the Independence Day holiday. Now that everyone is recharged — and hopefully air conditioned — how did the dancers do in episode six of season two, which continued the “Qualifiers” round? Scroll down to find out in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
This was the sixth week of the qualifiers round, in which the contestants dance for judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough in the hopes of receiving average scores of 80 or more to advance to the next round, the single-elimination “Duels.” There were only three weeks of qualifiers in the 10-episode first season last summer, so we’ve already gotten twice as much fancy footwork. And the first five weeks of competition already delivered plenty of showstoppers.
