Earlier today, we got the first photos of Ryan Reynolds in costume on the set of Deadpool on the closed Georgia Viaduct of Vancouver, Canada. In addition to more impressive photos that could easily be mistaken for legit promotional images, the first bit footage has now surfaced online for the highly-anticipated X-Men spinoff, thanks to Youtube's Michael Burnyeat and Instagram users. As previously reported, today's filming of Deadpool seemingly recreated the action-packed sequence from director Tim Miller's animated test footage which leaked earlier this year. Showcasing Ryan Reynolds (or his stunt double) in the comic book faithful costume and mask, which even has the white eyes, the awesome photos and brief set footage can all be found below! #Deadpool #RyanReynolds...

Stefan tackles criticism of Dollhouse, a brave series he argues is unfairly maligned in Joss Whedon's body of work...
Joss Whedon, it’s fair to say, is not short of fans. Between Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, Cabin in the Woods, Dr Horrible, and latterly his work with Marvel (not to mention his adaptation of a play by that little-known writer Will Shakesman), he has an enviable back catalogue, and Whedonites (as I promise not to refer to them again after this sentence) rank among the most devoted, rabid and occasionally frightening fans in geekdom. If you want an idea of just how passionate people are about the man’s work, write the phrase “I am a leaf on the wind” in any comment thread below a Whedon-related article, and hang on to something. Said thread may experience some slight turbulence and then explode.

Joss Whedon fans already know how wonderful Amy Acker is — she was Fred and then Illyria on Angel, Dr. Claire Saunders and then Whiskey on Dollhouse, and Lin in The Cabin in the Woods. And if these parts didn't showcase enough of her abilities (with her shifting and/or mysterious personalities), Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing remedies that pronto. Demonstrating a fluency that makes it seem as if she speaks like Shakespeare in her sleep, Acker is a revelation as Beatrice, the sharp-tongued heroine of the piece, who fights against her attraction to Benedick and tries to salvage her cousin Hero's engagement with Claudio. The actress chatted with Vulture about Whedon's Shakespeare brunches, how Romeo and Juliet spawned a blue demon goddess, and giving Fred/Wesley shippers a happy ending. When we last saw each other, you said you were planning to catch up on Game of Thrones. Did you...

Amy Acker will guest star on the season finale of Human Target.
The actress, who played Dr. Claire Saunders on the Joss Whedon drama Dollhouse and will appear on the upcoming ABC series Happy Town, will portray a woman Christopher Chance's past.
Talking to reporters during a conference call, star Mark Valley previewed the episode the guest-starring stint ahead:
"Baptiste comes back, and Amy Acker shows up and plays this one character who's very pivotal in Chance's past - she was the catalyst for him becoming Christopher Chance."
Also, Valley said:
"Lee Majors is in that episode - there's a couple of major confrontations there. Jackie Earle Haley and I have our first fight even though it takes place in the past. You can see the roots of their relationship and why they have such a trusting bond."...

It's almost over, folks. Joss Whedon's gone-too-soon series Dollhouse will air its series finale on January 22. The series, cancelled due to low viewership, will leave behind a small but dedicated fanbase, who will certainly love this titular follow-up to the first season's finale, "Epitaph One." It's a dystopian episode, apparently, that will take place in the dark future of 2019, where the technology of the Dollhouse has been turned into a global weapon — and will focus on the efforts and the group of freedom fighters "The Actuals" to take down the threat.

Dollhouse has a Jekyll & Hyde aspect to it: Joss Whedon’s TV series gets low ratings but also has an extremely loyal fan following. Old-timers who remember Star Trek’s original run can doubtless be forgiven for thinking they’ve heard this song before. As much of a pro as Whedon is, though, hopefully he relies on more than faith in his own press clippings. Television these days is not the television of the original Star Trek, and a fan following may not be enough.
Dollhouse’s second season opened this past Friday on Fox at 9 p.m. (its time slot last season, too) with “Vows.” Alpha is still at large, and the emphasis is on Echo’s latest assignment: marrying a British millionaire who has connections to one of Ballard’s FBI cases. But Echo is having troubles in the form of uncontrollable flashbacks dealing with past assignments (as...

Just a few quick words about Friday night's season premiere of Dollhouse, which saw the series return for a miraculous sophomore season, only to plummet to its lowest ratings yet. You read my advance review of the second season opener of Dollhouse ("Vows"), written and directed by Joss Whedon, but now that the episode has aired, we can talk about some of the specific plot points from the installment. And, in this case, it's the premiere's storyline involving Amy Acker's physically and emotionally scarred Whiskey/Claire Saunders that has piqued my interest more than any other, despite the appearance of Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber as shady businessman Martin Klar and Whedonverse alum Alexis Denisof as Senator Daniel Perrin. I'm still not entirely sure why Adelle would allow Paul Ballard to use Echo on an engagement to entrap Martin Klar or how Ballard was able to pay for the engagement.

If "Dollhouse" has one defining weakness, it comes in the form of Echo, the show's central character played by Eliza Dushku. The problem isn't necessarily in the acting -- though that could be argued -- but more in the fact that, as a character who literally changes personalities from week to week, it's nearly impossible to fully latch onto her plight.
When your show's central conceit focuses on a veritable brothel specializing in the sales of attractive, impressionable human beings, the lack of an accessible main character is a tremendous problem. I think that even the staunchest of Joss Whedon's fans would agree that they've stuck with "Dollhouse" not because it's a particularly riveting television experience, but because there's enough promise for it to eventually become worthwhile.
Thankfully, season two is looking to deliver on that promise.
In last season's "Omega," one of two finales for the opening year...

Finally, we get to play with dolls again. Yes, Dollhouse is back tonight for the start of its somewhat unexpected second season.
After struggling to find its footing early, the science-fiction meets soul-searching meets ass-kicking series found its footing in its second half. Now Eliza Dushku and company are back and have promised to deliver more of all of the above.
The Joss Whedon series about consensual(ish) brainwashing and reprogrammable people will continue to explore Echo (Eliza’s) burgeoning self awareness. Joss, Eliza and the cast gave fans a sneak peek of the premiere which they call “a tasting menu” for the series:
This season the show has also added appearances by a boatload of Whedonverse veterans including Summer Glau, Alexis Denisof, Felicia Day and the return of Alan Tudyk as Alpha. Also back, though in a reduced role due to her commitment to the new ABC series Happy Town,...

Well friends, its that time you’ve been waiting for because its now official: Summer Glau and Joss Whedon are back together again. According to a statement released by Fox today, Glau will again team with her Firefly/Serenity creator Joss Whedon as a recurring cast member on Dollhouse. She will play a new character named “Bennett” on the show and that’s pretty much all we know at the moment except that she works at the Dollhouse and “shares a past” with Eliza Dushku’s character Echo.
Shares a past could be pretty interesting. Give me a minute here. . . okay, I’m back. Moving on.
In the statement, Fox also released details of other guest stars on the show’s second season, which starts on Friday, September 25 at 9/8C:

Ausiello from ew reports that Amy Acker will be reprising her role as Dr. Claire Saunders on Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" for at least three episodes in its second season. There was some doubt if she would return because she has recently gotten a full time gig on ABC's new drama "Happy Town." I don't really know much about this new "Happy Town" drama ABC has lined up,but I'm gonna go with my gut instinct and say it probably won't last long, and we'll see Amy Acker back for even more "Dollhouse" action.

What is stage fright? The fear of being on stage. But that's not all it means in this week's episode of "Dollhouse." It also means you've got a reason to be afraid when a stalker is planning to kill you. You've got a reason to be afraid when the person you are trying to protect has a glorified death wish. You have a reason to be afraid when your Active seems to go off mission, endangering the client. Even though Dr. Claire Saunders (Amy Acker) has relegated Echo (Eliza Dushku) to non-dangerous missions because of last episode's disaster and because her handler, Boyd Langton (Harry Lennix), is still recovering from his arrow wound, boy genius Topher Brink (Franz Kranz) still programs her for an "unwitting bodyguard" mission. Basically, Echo thinks she's a hopeful singer auditioning ...

I’m in full Red Alert, phasers on kill; Skynet is frakin self aware scared. Seriously Joss? A Most Dangerous Game plot? This is the best thing you could come up with? Maybe I should blame Steven DeKnight who wrote and directed this episode. And why, may I ask is extra extraordinary writer Jane Espenson not writing?
