Peter Pan Goes Wrong has roped in Bradley Whitford and Daniel Dae Kim.
The pair are confirmed as special guest stars for the Center Theatre Group production, which will be mounted at the Ahmanson Theatre from Aug. 8 through Sept. 10. Whitford will take the stage Aug. 9-20 while Kim is set to appear Aug. 30-Sept. 10, with both taking on the role of Francis, “a member of the Cornley Drama Society who portrays the Narrator in Peter Pan.”
The production lands in L.A. with a West Coast premiere direct from Broadway. Co-written by Mischief company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, Peter Pan Goes Wrong is described as “a highly physical comedy packed with finely-tuned and inspired slapstick, delivered with split-second timing and ambitious daring stunts.” It follows the Cornley Drama Society as they attempt to present J.M. Barrie’s classic tale amid hi-jinx, accidents and cast disputes.

Exclusive: Two shows are being lined up to replace Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella musical which closes after a disappointing, short-lived run in London’s West End.
News of Cinderella’s closure became a contentious affair, causing members of the actors union Equity to picket outside the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Cast, crew, musicians and those working backstage were angered with management because many heard about the show’s demise via social media.
However, no time has been wasted in finding new tenants for the Gillian Lynne. Producers stampeded the place in almost impolite haste.
Tickets for the show that immediately follows Cinderella into the theater in London’s Covent Garden will be on sale by the end of next week.
Deadline has learned that it will be the much trumpeted Elliott & Harper, Catherine Schreiber and Leeds Playhouse production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, adapted from C.S.

Catherine Schreiber launched her career as an actor, before branching into writing and producing. Wearing these different hats is the joy of "being creative," she asserts. Schreiber insists she never turned to writing to create roles for herself or thought of her scripts as steppingstones to other goals. "Desperate Writers," which she co-wrote with Joshua Grenrock, is a case in point. Now playing Off-Broadway at the Union Square Theatre, the show began life as a film script. When it failed to make it to the screen, Schreiber turned it into a stage play, producing it first in Los Angeles before setting up shop in New York. She also gave herself a role, admitting it would be delightful if the play now found its way to becoming a movie in which she'd co-star, but it's just fine if that doesn't happen, she says. After all, she's having so much fun right.

One has to hand it to the Tony nominators: They didn't follow conventional wisdom nor did they particularly pay heed to commercial considerations.
Indeed, some of the biggest noms went to shows that are either long gone ("Ragtime," "Finian's Rainbow," "In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play," "Time Stands Still") or lagging at the boxoffice ("Fela!" "Memphis," "Next Fall," "Million Dollar Quartet").
The biggest surprises Tuesday were the omissions.
"The Addams Family," the most successful new musical of the season, was thoroughly dissed, failing to get noms for best musical, for its stars Nathan Lane or Bebe Neuwirth, or even for its production design. And though it did get one for original score, that's not exactly a coup in a season in which only one other musical, "Memphis," even had one. The category had to be embarrassingly filled out with the forgettable music from "Enron" and Branford Marsalis' incidental music for "Fences.
