Dave Grohl has revealed that he was recently hospitalised because he drank too much coffee. In Grohl's absence, his band Them Crooked Vultures - also made up of Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones - recently uploaded a video in which they seemingly joked: "Two weeks after [the] video was shot, Dave was rushed to [a] doctor due to the onset of unwanted physical effects caused by too much caffeine." However, Grohl has now confirmed that this was in fact true. He told Absolute (more)...

Part 6: From 50 Cent to Piers Morgan
50 Cent Bought a lot of ugly houses, killed hip-hop in the process
Good work on destroying hip-hop there, Curtis Jackson. Your relentless – and highly profitable – pursuit of the lowest common denominator has turned what was once actually exciting, a musical form that had wit and imagination and some glorious fire in its belly, into something crushingly, ball-achingly tedious, a tail-chasing, scab-picking parody of itself. I mean, well done on the cash and all that, but couldn't "Fiddy" have done something more interesting with it other than just buy an ugly house, some bullet-proof vests and a bunch of vulgar motors while writing rhymes like, "'Til the sun comes up, every night, we party, yeah we party 'til daylight", or, if you prefer, "I'm in my Lambo maggot, my 4, 4 faggot …" Is that it? Is that all the hip-hop fan deserves? Apparently, yes; yes it is.

What should be expected of Them Crooked Vultures? Put Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones in the same band, and it’s hard not to do some basic rock ’n’ roll algebra. Adding Queens Of The Stone Age’s catchy crunchiness to Nirvana’s relentlessly driving rhythms and Led Zeppelin’s flowing basslines and rich orchestral textures certainly sounds, well, super. But Them Crooked Vultures is not the sum of its members’ most famous bands. Thinking that it could be means overlooking an obvious fact about super-groups: Rock stars don’t form bands with other rock stars in ...

Dave Grohl formed his latest band through a musical "blind date". The Foo Fighters singer got the other members of supergroup Them Crooked Vultures - Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones - to meet him at a medieval banquet to see if they could work together. He said: "It was weird, the blind date, but I was aware of Josh's music obviously - I couldn't imagine it not working." Former Nirvana drummer Dave organised the meet up at Medieval Times - a themed night in the Us with lots of meat and a jousting show - for his birthday. Josh added the setting was perfect, as it meant...

It's a big month for Adam Lambert. He's releasing his debut album, For Your Entertainment, on November 23, which is just 10 days after "2012" hits movie theaters. This isn't exciting news for Lambert because he's a big fan of disaster flicks, but instead because his song "Time for Miracles" appears on the movie's soundtrack.
At the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Tuesday night, he told reporters how great it felt to be asked to contribute to the film's soundtrack since it was long before he had started work on his debut LP.
"I really feel honored that they came to me and asked me. I think it's obviously a risk on their part because this was before any sort of...

While Adam Lambert is still in the studio completing his major-label debut, For Your Entertainment, out on November 23, his music video for "Time for Miracles" premiered on MySpace on Wednesday morning (October 21). The song, produced by Rob Cavallo, is for the apocalyptic flick "2012," which hits theaters on November 13.
In the video, Lambert dons his best Goth clothes and anguished face as he makes his way through disaster scene after disaster scene, as everyone else around flees falling buildings and debris raining down from a fiery sky. Despite the fact that the world is coming to an end around him, Lambert looks triumphantly straight into the camera and sings about not giving up on a lost love.

Every so often — Ok, quite often — Hollywood decides to makes a movie about stuff blowing up. In this case, it's the apocalyptic "2012," which is about the extinction of humanity in general. Somewhat understandably, this is a rather bleak subject to tackle — the end of the world isn't exactly heartwarming — so the producers know they somehow need to inject some sunshine into the flick, something to leave audiences feeling better as they exit the theater. A logical solution is, of course, a power ballad.
The power ballad, of course, is perhaps the most humanizing of all tunes: With swelling strings and crashing chords, they are practically designed to evoke emotion, to tug at the heartstrings and cause tears to flow. Their lyrics — which are usually...

Sunday was a big day for impatient Adam Lambert fans, who got their first taste of post-"Idol" Lambert music thanks to a leak of "Time for Miracles," the highly anticipated soundtrack song from the upcoming disaster flick "2012." The track was released in Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium, and it didn't take long for the song to get uploaded to streaming video sites for all the world to hear. Lambert's record label, 19 Recordings/RCA Records, tried its best to take down the illegal streams as they went up, but a few still lingered at press time.
The Rob Cavallo-produced song has the "Idol" rocker heartbroken over a lost love and wishing for a miraculous reunion, all the while showcasing the powerful high timbre of Lambert's voice. The octave-and-a-half range...

Here’s what Brody Dalle has been up to in the six years since the last album she made with The Distillers: She’s been stockpiling hooks. Teaming up with ex-Pearl Jam/Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons and Alain Johannes (a frequent contributor to Queens Of The Stone Age, the band of Dalle’s husband, Josh Homme), as well as fellow Distiller Tony Bevilacqua, Dalle makes Spinnerette a showcase for her ability to trade styles with equal facility, from clipped, rocking new wave (the uber-catchy “Geeking,” with its throwback double-tracked vocal) to the grungy closer (“A Prescription For Mankind.” which ...
