Laura Siegel, also known as Laura Carter, worked for many years as a
broadcast journalist/writer/producer winning more than 100 national,
international and Los Angeles Ares awards including thirteen Emmys,
eight New York Festival Awards, ten Golden Mikes, 2 Clarion Awards, top
honors from American Women In Radio and Television, and nominations
from Women In Film and the Writers Guild.
She started as a newscaster, disc jockey, and talk show host at various
radio stations in Los Angeles, then became an anchor at the ABC station
in Palm Springs, California and returned to Los Angeles as a reporter,
producer and writer for KCBS-TV and as a correspondent for CNN.
As the Executive Producer of Special Projects for the News and
Documentary division of the Walt Disney Company (KCAL-TV) Laura had
hands-on creative involvement in more than 30 TV Specials and 120 News
Mini-Series.
She has received commendations from the Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors, the Los Angeles City Council, and from the Los Angeles
City Attorney's Criminal Justice Panel for documentaries on various
social issues and town hall meetings on violent crime and
racism.
