WWE Smackdown is launching on the USA Network this January, and as part of that change, it could end up being redesigned as a hybrid of Raw and Nxt.
Mauro Ranallo, the former voice of Pride, signed with WWE as a commentator for Smackdown this past week, and has told Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Snowden that “I get the sense they want to make it kind of a hybrid between Raw, the flagship show with all the storylines and great performances from our Superstars in the ring, and what’s happening in Nxt.”
A concept change is definitely needed, as Smackdown has been stale for years now. Ever since the brand split ended, it has been left with no unique selling point. But with the USA move, WWE have big plans to reinvigorate it. Signing Ranallo was part of that, and it now sounds like the actual style...

So Erin is announced as one half of the bottom two at the top of the show. I guess now that she officially owns those peephole videos people aren't as sympathetic? Also, it's her birthday today, so that is especially cold, America.
I don't want Erin to be voted off because then we won't get anymore shirtless Maksim. With that, Len does his usual recap of Monday's show. Whoever made him do that weird Team Gaga dance should be shot, though. Or promoted. I'm still not sure.
We're then treated to a repeat performance of Team Gaga's cha cha, which made me happy because I really liked it. I didn't do a weird dance or a lame Team Gaga cheer over it, but still. Oh, and Pamela Anderson's part will be played by Chelsie Hightower tonight because Pamela apparently injured herself somehow. Her routine was so simple by professional...

Erin Andrews & Maksim
Morrison: They spent too much time worrying about clothing and trying to piss off Len and not enough time on the routine itself. The beginning was shaky and awkward with all the rapid (and unnecessary) costume changes, but they managed to get it together for a dance that was impressive overall and scored well with the judges, who were in incredibly good moods this week. Plus, it got a ball joke out of Len, which is always fun.
Snowden: The pre-dance talk was all about how many articles of clothing Maks would remove during the course of the performance. What has my life come to? In the end, he played it for laughs and Erin showed some excellent dancing technique. Rest assured, after six long weeks, I feel like I am the Roger Ebert of dance technique. Brooke Burke's tough questioning revealed that Maks was wearing...

Jose Aldo might just be the best fighter in the world you've never heard of. He's got knockout power in both hands, two feet and his knees. He's got the kind of killer instinct that the Ufc wishes Anderson Silva possessed. And he, at the tender age of 23, is the top prospect in the game. Don't believe me? Ask Ufc President Dana White. Already a fan, when White heard that Aldo asked to defend his Wec Featherweight title in opponent Urijah Faber's hometown of Sacramento, he knew he had something special.
"Pretty nasty, you know? That shows what kind of a fighter this kid is, man," White said. "To want to go into a guy's hometown - especially, listen, it's not just like walking into any hometown, you're walking into Faber's hometown. Faber is huge there, you know, he knows that he's going to get the support of the people.

Last night's boring Dancing with the Stars results show might be a hint of what's to come now the main reason for watching it is gone. I knew Kate was in the bottom two as soon as they said they were going to announce whether or not she was safe at the top of the show, because up until now they've waited 'til the last possible second to announce that we'd get another week of exuberance.
But last night, the producers got all the mileage possible out of Kate's moment in the bottom by sticking her under the red light for the entire freaking show, where shetreated us to a series of scowls and frowns that I will truly miss. Other than a near-flashing from Chelsie that I'm sure my fellow Dwts commentator Jonathan Snowden enjoyed (hopefully his DirecTV was back up and running in time to catch it), the show was highlight-free.

Everyone loves movies, except maybe Kate Gosselin. Here's my take on the silver screen affair, sans Mma expert Jonathan Snowden who experienced the nightmare of Direct TV failure last night. Actually, I'm kinda jealous...
Niecy and Louis: Niecy finally managed to get a dance that doesn't celebrate tragedy, dancing the jive to "La Bamba," which means we get to see fun Niecy again! And fun she is, so much so that Louis gets worried she's wasting energy, goofing off instead of rehearsing. Nevertheless, she did a pretty good (if slightly sloppy) jive that showed off her jiggly parts and the terrible smudge-proof qualities of her lipstick, which left a huge pair of lips on Len's forehead when she kissed him to the end the dance. Too bad she went first and got lower scores from the judges than she probably shouldn't have.
Chad and Cheryl: After an awkward rehearsal segment...

Anderson Silva is just like you. Oh, I'm sure there are some key differences. He can bend over and touch his toes for one. He's also stunningly handsome and you probably look like 250 pounds of Play Dough stuffed in a wrinkled up trash bag. At least I do. And, by the way, he's the baddest man on the planet. But at heart, the Ufc middleweight champion is just a big old dorky Mma fan like you, downloading torrents and checking out the the classic fights at Ufc.com.
"A big part of my life is watching fights. I watch all of my opponents’ fights, my own fights, my friends’ opponents’ fights," Silva told the press at a recent Ufc media event. "I just watch fights all day long. And I feel that it’s an internal studying. And if I want to keep on this road that I'm on, then...
