Sam Spencer's career has spanned two decades as a songwriter, singer
and composer for film, video, TV and commercials. Sam was primary
songwriter for MCA recording artists 'Big Bang Theory' with publishing
through EMI.
Currently Sam is a freelance composer, songwriter and music supervisor for film, video, TV and commercials in Washington, DC and has a band called Gravistar. Along with original music, Sam has hundreds of contacts in the fertile DC music scene and offers music supervision with great and affordable, pre-recorded local music in dozens of genres featuring punk, country, Americana, pop and much more.
His recording experience includes work at top studios in Washington (Cue Recorders), New York (Sigma Sound) and Nashville (Eleven Eleven, 16th Ave Sound and The Castle) with producer Glenn Rosenstein (U2, Talking Heads, Ziggy Marley) and engineer Chuck Ainlay (Mark Knopfler, Lyle Lovett, Wynonna).
Sam and Big Bang Theory won the Washington Area Music Association's 1987 award for Best New Artist.
