Bula Quo! is a fictional feature length film about British rock and roll duo Status Quo who, when on tour in Fiji, find themselves fighting for their lives having been caught up in a gangland murder operation in which they are prime suspects. Seriously. This is a real film. Oh and guess what, there’s already been a sequel announced.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt have been in the entertainment industry for an incredible 50 years, however there is nothing that can prepare them for their upcoming tour of Fiji, as they are scheduled to perform to thousands of adoring fans. With their publicity and security assistants Simon (Craig Fairbrass) and Caroline (Laura Aikman) running around after them like headless chickens, there is little anybody can do to prevent the ageing pair witnessing a callous murder, at the hands of local crime-lord Wilson (Jon Lovitz). With the law enforcement suspecting it...

Bula Quo!, currently being shot in Fiji, will feature a soundtrack of 12 songs by the British rockers
British rockers Status Quo are working on their very own action film in the vein of James Bond, reports NME.com.
Titled Bula Quo!, the movie will feature a soundtrack of 12 "classic" songs from the London-based band. It is currently being shot in Fiji, with Us comic Jon Lovitz and former EastEnders actor Craig Fairbrass joining the cast. British stunt co-ordinator turned director Stuart St Paul is in charge of the cameras for the project, which will hit cinemas next year.
"The one thing Quo fans know is to expect the unexpected," said singer Francis Rossi. Guitarist Rick Parfitt added: "This is an amazing chance for us to do something new and we're all really excited."
It is not known whether Rossi and Parfitt plan to star in the film themselves or merely take producers' credits.

Freight
UK DVD
Directed by Stuart St. Paul
Starring Billy Murray, Danny Midwinter, Craig Fairbrass, Stephen Uppal, Matt Kennard, Sam Kennard, Laura Aikman, Natalie Anderson
Released April 18, 2011
British cinema has long been associated with crime dramas. It is a long tradition which stretches from gritty gangster fares such as Get Carter and The Krays through to more recent underworld flicks like Gangster No1 and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Thanks to the success of these, the latest generation of British filmmakers has produced a constant reel of new British crime films in recent years.
These films, it has to be said, are of varying quality. Often they are films full of enthusiasm but slightly rough-around-the-edges and sometimes just downright boring. So I was slightly apprehensive when I came to watch the latest genre effort to make it on to DVD, Freight, the sixth film written and directed by ex-stunt coordinator Stuart St. Paul.

Restrepo (15)
(Tim Hetherington, Sebastian Junger, 2010, Us) 94 mins
This powerful frontline Afghanistan doc has been compared to a real-life Hurt Locker but here, war is all difficulty and very little glory. Closely observing a Us company in the hostile Korengal Valley, it's a mix of tense combat, bunker downtime and tricky "hearts and minds" local engagement efforts, interspersed with moving post-combat reflection. It all leaves you with a great deal of respect for the soldiers, and very little for the people who put them there.
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (12A)
(Oliver Stone, 2010, Us) Michael Douglas, Shia Labeouf, Carey Mulligan. 133 mins
Nice timing for the return of Gordon Gekko, but has the lizard changed his spots? He's now preaching that greed isn't good, and taking in young buck Labeouf for dubious reasons, in a flawed but fun sequel.
Mr Nice (18)
(Bernard Rose, 2010, UK) Rhys Ifans, Chloë Sevigny, David Thewlis. 121 mins

Ray Winstone has gone from hunting CGI monsters while hiding the salami Austin Powers-style to heading off in pursuit of a psycho who digs on hunting chicks in Stuart St. Paul's flying-under-the-radar slasher/thriller Red Snow.
The film, based on a short by Adam Mason, will be directed by St. Paul working from a screenplay that he penned. How news of this one has remained under wraps for so long remains a bit of a mystery, but we won't let it slip by any longer!
Check out the artwork and synopsis below courtesy of the official Red Snow website.
Synopsis
Declan likes to hunt. Although he’s learnt most of his hunting skills from watching cable television, he enjoys nothing more than leaving his family behind, taking his light airplane for a spin over Canada’s snowy outdoors, landing at his log cabin high in the mountains, and venturing...
