Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan are known for delivering breaking news on ABC’s Good Morning America.
However, they delivered some special “breaking news” during a recent episode.
It was about their co-star, George Stephanopoulos, with the news delivered live on TV by his friend and colleague.
Stephanopoulos released his second book over a week ago, The Situation Room: The Inside Story of Presidents in Crisis.
It presents stories about the White House Situation Room, from John F. Kennedy’s presidency to President Joe Biden.
On GMA, Stephanopoulos learned he’d reached a significant achievement with the book’s release.

A scene depicting a rape by former President Donald Trump in a biopic, The Apprentice, inspired controversy during its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
In the movie, which premiered at Cannes on Monday night, Ivana Trump (Maria Bakalova) shows a young Trump (Sebastian Stan) a book about the female orgasm. In the scene, the former president tells his late ex-wife he is not attracted to her. He then throws her on the ground and angrily penetrates her as she asks him to stop.
“Is that your G-spot,” he asked her while sexually assaulting her. “Did I find it?” The scene inspired gasps from the audience. Ivana accused Trump of rape in a divorce deposition back in 1990. He denied the allegation, and his wife later said the incident had left her feeling “violated” but not raped “in a literal or criminal sense.”

Michael Strahan’s Daughter Gives Update Amid Worrying Absence
As one of the fan favorites on GMA, Michael Strahan tries to always be around and present with his co-hosts. Michael Strahan and Whit Johnson surprised their co-hosts while live on television during Good Morning America.
Friday’s GMA episode featured Strahan, a regular at the desk, but his co-hosts weren’t Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.
Instead, Rebecca Jarvis replaced Roberts, and Johnson was there to fill in for Stephanopoulos.
After they previewed the show’s upcoming stories, Johnson said they’d share where to find the “best last-minute gifts for Mother’s Day.”
“I feel like we should say Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms just to get it in,” Jarvis said.
“Indeed, Happy Mother’s Day,” Strahan said, as Jarvis said, “To all the moms out there.”

Kim Godwin hoped to build ABC News’ future by cutting out some of its past.
Tasked, ostensibly, with shaking up a culture of the Disney-backed news organization that pit anchors against one another and led to claims of intolerable behavior behind the scenes, Godwin was supposed to revamp a storied journalism hub without losing any of the impetus that spurred employees to make shows such as “World News Tonight” and “Good Morning America” the most-watched in their category.
But the ABC News president, who was still working Monday after sending out a letter Sunday announcing her retirement following a shaky three-year reign, lost the support of much of the news operation by installing an array of senior executives who proved difficult to work with, while ousting veterans who had the respect of their colleagues. She also moved slowly, often taking weeks to make important decisions about programming and personnel, according...

Fans await the cast reveal for Dancing with the Stars Season 33, as each season brings various stars from acting, singing, social media, and sports.
Many sports stars have captured the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, now named the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, in the late DWTS judge’s honor.
Rumors suggested the show’s producers wanted to score big by bringing basketball superstar Caitlin Clark in for the upcoming season.
Clark captured much attention throughout the college basketball season, and DWTS desperately wanted her as part of the cast.
However, an insider says despite them “bending over backwards” to get Clark on the show, she “respectfully declined.”
That was due to Clark having other things to focus on, including her basketball career, and she has her eye on a few shows on which she’d prefer to appear.

Joe Biden was joined by members of the Kennedy family in Philadelphia today to promote their endorsement of the president, a conspicuous rebuke of the independent bid of Robert Kennedy Jr.
Kerry Kennedy, Rfk Jr.’s sister, introduced Biden at the event, noting that “nearly every grandchild of Joe and Rose Kennedy supports Joe Biden. That’s right, the Kennedy family endorses Joe Biden for president.”
She was joined by 14 other relatives. They include siblings Rory, Joe, Chris, Max and Kathleen, as well as Joe Kennedy III, who serves as a special envoy to Northern Ireland.
Kerry Kennedy said that “in 2024 there are only two candidates with any chance of winning the presidency. We know that well.”
Rfk Jr.’s campaign could prove consequential to Biden’s prospects, especially if he is able to secure ballot access in key swing states and siphon votes way from the president’s reelection effort.

After repeatedly saying Donald Trump is unfit to be president, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) was confronted by ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos about his new support for the former president.
Interviewed on ABC’s This Week, Sununu was questioned for his support of Trump. Sununu previously backed former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley and criticized Trump for contributing to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection. In January, Sununu claimed Trump has “no energy” and can “barely read a teleprompter.”
Trump criticized Sununu far before the New Hampshire governor backed his then-presidential campaign opponent. Now, Sununu says he believes Trump should not drop out of the election race even if he is convicted in his classified documents case.
Stephanopoulos: Just to sum up. You support Trump for president even if he's convicted in the classified documents case. You support him for president even though you believe he contributed to an insurrection. You...

Prosecutors intend to argue that Alec Baldwin could not control his emotions on the set of “Rust,” and that he “shamelessly lied” and repeatedly changed his story after accidentally shooting the film’s cinematographer.
The actor is due to go on trial in July in Santa Fe, N.M., on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for firing a prop gun and killing Halyna Hutchins. In a 32-page filing made public on Monday, prosecutor Kari Morrissey laid out the allegations against Baldwin in unprecedented detail.
She argued that Baldwin would scream and curse at himself and others on set, sometimes for no particular reason, and that his behavior contributed to safety failures.
“To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of ‘Rust’ is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him,” Morrissey wrote.

“To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of ‘Rust’ is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him,” Morrissey wrote.

Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts shared an intriguing message with fans ahead of her possible absence from the show.
Roberts appeared on GMA this week, usually along with co-anchors Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos.
Stephanopoulos wasn’t in the studio on Thursday with them as he was on assignment in London. Rebecca Jarvis replaced him next to Strahan and Roberts.
However, Roberts might be missing from the lineup when the show airs next on ABC.
Before her potential absence, she uploaded a new video for fans and followers, including suggestions for the days ahead.
Among the advice she passed on was to “lay down your regrets,” which some may have believed was a reference to her personal life.

Ronna McDaniel was supposed to be the new star contributor at NBC News. Now her position there is looking increasingly untenable.
NBC News hired the former Republican National Committee chief last week, betting that her recent access to the Trump campaign and Republican politicians would make her a valuable analyst as the 2024 election cycle intensified. But in recent days, her ability to do just that seems unclear. On Monday, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski suggested on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that NBC News reconsider its hire. A day earlier, Chuck Todd took to “Meet The Press” to chastise NBC News bosses for making moderator Kristen Welker conduct a news interview she had previously booked with McDaniel now that she was a paid operative of NBC and potentially less able to respond truthfully to hard questions.
It seems very likely that her position at NBC will remain in the news for the immediate future.

Good Morning America hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos are concerned about losing their jobs amid big changes at ABC. The network has brought in the “big guns,” so to speak, and both of the morning talk show veterans are concerned their jobs are on the line as a result. Keep reading to see why these two television news icons are wary of the changes happening at ABC and what’s next.
Big Changes Are Coming To Good Morning America
There are big changes coming to GMA and ABC. Following the scandalous affair between Amy Robach and Tj Holmes, the reputation of the network has suffered.

If her latest message is any indication, Good Morning America star Robin Roberts is ready to take more time off from her day job.
Roberts has previously missed episodes of the show due to travel or spending time with friends and family.
She’s also frequently been away for Friday episodes of the show, often enjoying a three-day weekend to recharge after her busy work schedule.
In the past month, Roberts also left New York to travel around the country for several days on various assignments for ABC’s morning and evening news programs.
That included stops in Iowa, Tennessee, and California before she returned to New York and Connecticut, her home region.
Ahead of the Thursday, March 21 episode of GMA, she shared what some might consider a cryptic message about work and family, followed by an update about traveling.

According to those who’ve spoken to him lately, former President Donald Trump doesn’t seem to think he’s actually going to win his defamation lawsuit against ABC News and its star host George Stephanopoulos — but that’s not the point.
Over the weekend, Stephanopoulos asserted that Trump had been “found liable for rape and defaming” the victim, writer E. Jean Carroll, by judges and two juries. As a factual matter, a jury found Trump defamed and sexually abused Carroll — and he was ordered to pay $83 million for defaming her again.

Former President Donald Trump filed a defamation lawsuit against ABC News and George Stephanopoulos over the remarks the anchor made during an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina) on This Week.
Trump’s lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Miami on March 18, focused on how Stephanopoulos, at many points in his questioning, mentioned that the former president was found “liable for rape.” The jury found him liable for sexual abuse under New York law, but not rape.
“These statements were and remain false, and were made by Defendant Stephanopoulos with actual malice or with a reckless disregard for the truth given that Defendant Stephanopoulos knows that these statements are patently and demonstrably false,” Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, wrote in the 20-page complaint.

Former President Donald Trump has filed a defamation suit against ABC News and one of its best known anchors, George Stephanopoulos, alleging that the TV journalist damaged Trump’s standing by saying on air that he had been found liable for raping E. Jean Carroll, a journalist and writer who recently won a defamation suit against the former Commander in Chief.
The suit, filed Monday in the Miami division of Southern District of Florida in the U.S. District Court, attempts to make the case that Stephanopoulos during the course of a recent broadcast of ABC News’ “This Week” defamed Trump by stating the rape allegations several times. While Trump was found liable by a jury of assaulting Carroll sexually, the judge in the trial indicated that Carroll had not failed to prove that Trump raped her, citing New York’s narrow legal definition of the crime.
ABC News declined to comment on the matter.

Former President Donald Trump has again filed a defamation lawsuit against a major media outlet, this time over comments that ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos made during a contentious recent interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-sc).
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Miami, claims that Stephanopoulos defamed him during his questioning of Mace during an interview on This Week.
During the interview, Stephanopoulos played a video in which Mace said that she was a victim of rape. He first asked Mace, “You endorsed Donald Trump for president. Judges and two separate juries have found him liable for rape and for defaming the victim of that rape. How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony that we just saw?”
Mace said to Stephanopoulos, “I’ve lived for 30 years with an incredible amount of shame over being raped. I didn’t come forward because of that...

Bill Maher tapes his show, which means news that breaks on Friday is usually not mentioned.
Such was the case on Friday’s Real Time, as earlier in the day, stories broke that Maher has fired his longtime agents at CAA, allegedly over not being invited to agency head Bryan Lourd’s A-list house party during Oscars week.
Ironically, Maher’s “New Rules” editorial was about the trend toward whining about the small stuff in life.
“Being obsessed with your mental heath is bad for your mental heath,” he proclaimed. He tied it to why President Joe Biden’s approval rating is so low “when things are pretty good.” He cited the modern blessings of next day shopping, stuffed crust pizza, and porn on your phone. So “cheer the f**k up,” he advised.
“Yes, you are on the spectrum,” Maher said. “So’s everyone alive. That’s why they call it a spectrum.

Less than six months before Alec Baldwin is set to go on trial for involuntary manslaughter over the on-set 2021 shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, the actor who steadfastly claims he never pulled the trigger says prosecutors “have stacked the deck” against him.
“The State prosecutors have engaged in this misconduct—and publicly dragged Baldwin through the cesspool created by their improprieties—without any regard for the fact that serious criminal charges have been hanging over his head for two and a half years,” proclaims a motion to dismiss filed Thursday in New Mexico court.
“Enough is enough.”

Los Angeles, March 11 (Ians) Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel took a moment during the live telecast, right before Al Pacino presented Best Picture, to read aloud the Republican Party’s presumptive presidential candidate Donald Trump’s latest social media post. After a trial that lasted almost two weeks, it took a jury three hours to return a guilty verdict for involuntary manslaughter against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer on “Rust.” After an investigation of cinematographer Haylna Hutchins’ death that took more than two years, it was a swift end. One case remains: Alec Baldwin, who held the gun that killed Hutchins on October 21, 2021.
Baldwin’s trial is set for July and it carries the same involuntary manslaughter charge. Like Gutierrez-Reed, he faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted. Gutierrez-Reed currently awaits sentencing while in custody.
Neama Rahmani, founder of Los Angeles-based personal injury firm West Coast Trial Lawyers and a former federal prosecutor, said he believes Baldwin’s case will be much harder to prosecute — but Gutierrez-Reed’s conviction only helped his case.
“It’s a win-win for Baldwin,” Rahmani told IndieWire. “The prosecution has proven that she’s responsible.
