Watch a new spot from Relativity Media's Free Birds animation, starring Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson and Amy Poehler. The Jimmy Hayward film hits theaters on November 1st and looks like a hysterical animated comedy, also scripted by Hayward alongaside Scott Mosier from the story by David I. Stern and John Strauss. In this irreverent, hilarious, adventurous buddy comedy for audiences of all ages, directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!), two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history - and get turkey off the holiday menu for good.

Landing in Us cinemas in just over a month’s time, Free Birds marks Relativity Media’s entrance into the world of animation.
The comedy, previously titled Turkeys, boasts a fantastic voice cast, led by Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson, and Amy Poehler. And that, alone, should be encouragement enough.
With just a few more weeks before it touches down across the Atlantic, the studio has launched the new trailer and poster over on Fandango, giving a new look at the adventurous little birds.

Previously titled Turkeys, Free Birds is set to hit theatres this November, in plenty of time for Thanksgiving across the pond.
The animated comedy-adventure movie sees Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson lend their voices as the leading duo, starring as two turkeys who are determined get their kind off the menu for the Thanksgiving festivities for good.
We’ve got four and a half months left on the clock before Relativity put the film into theatres, and they’ve launched the first trailer over on Apple.

When you think about all the children.s movies out there, animated or live action, Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that just doesn.t get that much play (though Chinese New Year also gets a similar cold shoulder). But Relativity Media.s Free Birds - formerly known by the less-than-clever name Turkeys - is here to change that. In fact, it.s here to change Thanksgiving forever. The film.s first trailer, courtesy of Apple, is actually funnier than I thought it would be, but not by much. That said, I.m still pretty into the premise, and I think it could allow for a wide range of clever storytelling, though I.m not entirely sure I trust the writers involved - including John J. Strauss (The Wild) and David I. Stern (Open Season 2), who did the story, and writers Jimmy Hayward and Scott Mosier. If they completely...

Every single year, the President of the United States pardons a single turkey from being eaten for Thanksgiving. But what happens to that turkey afterwards? Apparently he lives the life of luxury. Owen Wilson voices a pardoned turkey who has his cushy life interrupted when he's recruited by another high strung, eccentric turkey (Woody Harrelson) to go back in time and stop their kind from being on the menu at the very first Thanksgiving. Amy Poehler also lends her voice to the animated time travel adventure Free Birds from the director of Horton Hears a Who!, and it looks like some good holiday fun. Here's the first trailer for Jimmy Hayward's Free Birds, originally from Apple: Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!) directs Free Birds, written by Craig Mazin (The Hangover sequels), David I. Stern (Open Season sequels) and John J. Strauss (The Santa Clause sequels). Two turkeys (Owen...

Even though it's not even Halloween yet in 2012, Relativity Media is already looking ahead to Thanksgiving of 2014.
The studio is partnering with Reel FX to produce Turkeys, an animated comedy featuring the voice talents of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson. Jimmy Hayward, who directed Horton Hears A Who! and the disastrous Jonah Hex after Neveldine/Taylor vacated the project, is returning to animation and tackling the directing duties on this one. (I think we can all forgive him for Jonah Hex considering he was an animator on Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo.) John Strauss and David I. Stern wrote the screenplay (rewrite by Dan Mazin), with regular Kevin Smith collaborator Scott Mosier producing.
The movie is described as "an irreverent, hilarious, adventurous buddy comedy where two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in...

More than two years ago, Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson boarded Turkeys. The project was meant to be the first of several animated movies from Bedrock Studios with smaller budgets, but in the time since, there hasn.t really been much new information about how things were progressing, at least until today when Relativity Media and Reel FX released a statement saying they.re going to co-finance the film. Apparently, Scott Mosier, best known for his work on many of the Kevin Smith movies, is now on board to produce alongside Craig Mazin, John Strauss and David I. Stern. According to Coming Soon, the studios are still shooting for a 2014 release date. It.s unclear whether the budget has been raised above the initial $35 million, but regardless, Wilson and Harrelson will remain at the top of the bill. Despite the efforts of some Hollywood stars, who advise adopting rather than...

With Thanksgiving less than a month away, what great timing for Relativity Media in conjunction with Reel FX to announce their upcoming computer animated comedy project:

Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson will voice the two main characters — who happen to be turkeys.

Relativity Media will produce and finance Turkeys with Reel FX. Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson play two turkeys who find a time machine in a secret government laboratory and aim to go back to the very first Thanksgiving, and get turkeys off the menu! That sounds like a complete riot. Variety reports that Relativity will also distribute Turkeys on the domestic front. Jimmy Hayward of Horton Hears a Who! directs from the script by David I. Stern, John Strauss and Craig Mazin. Scott Mosier produces with all three scribes. Relativity's giving the film a 2014 release. Harrelson can be seen in CBS Films' hilarious comedy crime flick Seven Pyschopaths. He's in post-production on Out of the Furnace for helmer Scott Cooper, with Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana, Willem Dafoe, Casey Affleck, Forest Whitaker and Sam Shepard also starring. He's also finished work on Louis Leterrier's thriller Now You See Me.

Breaking records in the Us last month, topping the box office with the biggest September opening of all time, Hotel Transylvania is released in the UK today, and Adam Sandler has been playing host on ‘Monster TV’ ahead of its arrival, a You’ve Been Framed!-esque show to introduce us to his Dracula character.
Sandler, Selena Gomez, and Andy Samberg lead the impressive voice cast, with support coming from the likes of Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, David Spade, Jon Lovitz, Cee-Lo Green, Fran Descher, and Molly Shannon.
“Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. In a groundbreaking (and diverse) age of animation where Disney is not longer the sole juggernaut, competing houses Pixar, DreamWorks, Aardman, Laika and Studio Ghibli (and to a lesser extent Fox’s Blue Sky Studios) continually offer audiences compelling fare that often break any preconceived notions that this overarching genre is simply for children.
Struggling to find its foothold in the industry as DreamWorks once did is Sony Pictures Animation, purveyor of fare including Open Season and The Smurfs – an entity which seems decidedly stuck in the past. Offering up slapstick-laden fluff of the lowest common denominator, the products flowing from this studio (even at their most comforting and brisk) are insubstantial and almost always offer nothing but a fleeting diversion.

So far the first couple trailers for Hotel Transylvania have promised the big screen goofiness of Adam Sandler but in an animated family friendly package this time. Though Sandler ventured into animation with Eight Crazy Nights before, this seems to be a little less crass and creative, even if Sandler is bringing all his usual buddies like Kevin James, David Spade and Steve Buscemi into the mix. Now each of the stars get a character poster along with Selena Gomez as Dracula's daughter Mavis and Fran Drescher as Frankenstein's wife. Since their first big screen team up in That's My Boy doesn't seem to be faring to well, maybe having Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg in a family centric animated comedy will serve them better. That's what Sony Pictures Animation is hoping as they've just released their new trailer for Hotel Transylvania. "It's just a normal hotel, nothing going on here." At the end of last month the first teaser trailer for the Genndy Tartakovsky directed animated film Hotel Transylania from Sony Pictures Animation made its way online. Now we have a slightly different teaser with some different comedic beats though, and a better look at some of the various monsters staying at the hotel like The Mummy (Cee-Lo Green), Frankenstein (Kevin James) and especially Adam Sandler as the proprietor Dracula. Adam Sandler will give voice to Dracula in the upcoming 3D animated comedy Hotel Transylvania. By the way, this article's title is meant as a descriptive, not a prediction, but feel free to interpret it as you will.

Dracula opens the hotel as a safe haven for his daughter, Mavis, whom he has lied to about the outside world in order to protect her from its dangers. Of course, his elaborate scheme backfires when she falls for what Deadline calls "one ordinary guy" who stumbles upon the resort.
