While many productions were forced to shut down when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the team behind Fox’s Emmy award winner animation series, Bob’s Burgers — like many animation houses — were fortunate to be able to make a smooth transition to remote work. “Bob’s Burgers is in production. We never stopped being in production, said creator and executive producer,” said Loren Bouchard, who was on hand for Comic-Con@Home, joined by voice cast members H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman, Dan Mintz, and Larry Murph, as well as producers Nora Smith and Janelle Momary.
Season 11 is set to debut on September 27 and those who tuned into the pre-recorded session got a peek at some upcoming episodes including an eerily timely one that deals with a pandemic, which Smith said she wrote before the coronavirus hit.
The episode, aptly titled Worms of In-Rear-ment, “is about a pinworm epidemic,” Smith shared.

A decade in rehab has failed to tame abrasive former supermodel Salem Rogers (Leslie Bibb, About a Boy), Model of the Year 1998. Now that she’s been let loose on the world, hard-partying Salem is intent on recreating her former success and glamorous lifestyle in a new world she barely recognizes. She tracks down her browbeaten former assistant (SNL alum Rachel Dratch), who’s since built a career as an author of self-help books, and stops at nothing to enlist her in her plans to return to the spotlight – whatever it takes.
Discovered through Amazon Studios’ open submission website, Salem Rogers was created by newcomer Lindsey Stoddart, directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) and executive produced by Will Graham (The Onion News Network). In addition to Bibb and Dratch, the half-hour comedy stars Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), Brad Morris (Playing House), Harry Hamlin (Mad Men), Toks Olagundoye (The Neighbors...

Salem Rogers, Season 1, Episode 1: “Pilot”
Written by Lindsey Stoddart
Directed by Mark Waters
Released January 15, 2015 by Amazon
Throughout the various incarnations of the Amazon pilot releases, the streaming service has sought to strike a balance between comedic and dramatic fare. The streaming service’s latest round of pilots was no exception in this regard, and one of their forays into comedy comes in the form of Salem Rogers. Marking the writing debut of actress Lindsey Stoddart, the show focuses on the exploits of a former supermodel trying to re-enter the world after a decade in rehab, with her hapless former assistant turned attempted self-help guru in tow. Unfortunately, the pilot suffers from a degree of indecision about what direction it wants a potential series to go in, which is reflected in the writing and pulls down the episode, despite the best efforts of the talented cast.

As Netflix continues to assert itself as a major television company with such acclaimed series as House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, Amazon Studios is racing to catch up by ordering series it hopes will be equally well-received. So far, Amazon has scored one big hit in the form of Jeffrey Tambor-led dramedy Transparent, and it hopes to find some more in the new lineup of pilots, which will be made available for viewing as part of the company’s first pilot season of 2015.
Enclosed are descriptions of all seven pilots, courtesy of Deadline. The talented involved on all of them is impressive, to say the least. Mad Dogs comes from Cris Cole (The Bill) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield), while The Man In The High Castle hails from Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files). Carlton Cuse (Lost, The Strain) and Randall Wallace (Braveheart) are behind Point Of Honor,...

Amazon is entering pilot season strong with seven pilots for shows with big names attached. The pilots will include hour-long shows Cocked, Mad Dogs, The Man in the High Castle, and Point of Honor, half-hour shows Down Dog and Salem Rogers, and the half-hour docu-series The New Yorker Presents. Cocked is the hour-long dark comedy from Lie to Me's Sam Baum and Manhattan's Sam Shaw. It stars Sam Trammell as Richard Paxson, a man who returns to his rural Virginia family after leaving acrimoniously 20 years ago. Now, Paxson returns with his liberal family to the dysfunctional family he left behind,...

As usual, Amazon Studios is not confirming, but I hear the digital company has ordered two more comedy pilots, Salem Rogers: Model of the Year 1998 by actress-writer Lindsey Stoddart and Down Dog by comedy veteran Robin Schiff (Are You There, Chelsea?). Salem Rogers centers on a self-centered, arrogant former supermodel who is forced to leave rehab after 10 years and reunites with her long-suffering former assistant, now a self-help writer using her years with Salem as an inspiration. Down Dog centers on a slacker working as a yoga instructor who takes over the yoga studio with no skills and experience, relying on the help of his two childhood friends. Salem Rogers and Down Dog join several other Amazon comedy pilots, including Really, Red Oaks, Cocked, Cosmopolitan and The Outlaws. Related: 2014 Amazon Studios Pilots...

Gaby (Eva Longoria) drops off Juanita (Madison De La Garza) and lets her out before reaching the drop off point. She is faced by Dana (Beth Littleford) who removes Gaby's drop off privileges. If Gaby can take the placard from her then she can have it, but Gaby can't reach it. Mary Alice (Brenda strong) "Some of our most important lessons are learned outside the classroom and when it came to school politics, Gaby's education was just beginning." Love Shack is a gleeful, slick faux documentary in the grand tradition of Best in Show and This Is Spinal Tap – except instead of dog shows or hair bands, this flick takes aim at the porn industry. Directed by Gregg Saccon and Michael B. Silver, it's a decidedly goofy, gay-inclusive, PG-13-appropriate take on the making of a "legacy" porn flick.
A cast of commentators, including former porn stars, a "professional" porn historian and a VH1 "I Love the 80s" style snarkmeister begin the picture, detailing the life of recently deceased "Mo Saltzman" (Ian Gomez), a beloved and wildly successful porn producer with 40 years of "commercially and artistically successful" films under his belt.
Mo has left an artistic legacy, according to the "academic" commentator, an empire according to Mr. Snark, and a loving, non-traditional family, according to his many stars. Now in their 50s and 60s, former performers recall their...

To little surprise, Comedy Central has cancelled The Sarah Silverman Program after three seasons on the air.
The Sarah Silverman Program revolves around a fictionalized version of comic Sarah Silverman. Unemployed and immature, she depends on her sister Laura (Laura Silverman) to take care of her. Their friends include a pair of gay neighbors (Brian Posehn and Steve Agee) and dim-witted Officer Jay McPherson (Jay Johnston). Recurring characters have been played by Rob Schrab, Tig Notaro, Eddie Pepitone, Justin Roiland, Mike Ivy, Murray Gershenz, Armen Weitzman, Johnnie Walker, Eric Marseglia, Mark Cohen, Lindsey Stoddart, Ron Lynch, and Scott Chernoff.
The offbeat sitcom debuted in February 2007 and attracted 1.8 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was one of Comedy Central's biggest premieres to date and prompted a season two renewal soonafter.
