Theo James shines in The Gentlemen, a thrilling new Netflix series about deceit and family drama. But is The Gentlemen lifted from someone else's work? The connection between The Gentlemen and Guy Ritchie's past film, RocknRolla, is evident in similar characters and story elements. Both films highlight power dynamics, chaotic situations, and characters with drug habits in the crime world of England.
Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen is one of the most entertaining stories to hit Netflix in quite some time. Actor Theo James plays Eddie Horniman, a former Un officer who now has to take care of his late father’s massive Halstead estate — only to learn that the Glass family is running an equally humongous weed enterprise just below it. This new arrangement introduces some interesting characters like Suzie Glass and Stanley Johnston, who throw our young main character into a whirlwind of lies and deceit.

Rebel Wilson has revealed that her Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen is the previously unnamed Hollywood “asshole” that is allegedly attempting to stop her writing about him in her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising.
A spokesperson for Baron Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
Last week, in an Instagram post, Wilson revealed that she intended to dedicate a whole chapter in her book to “a massive asshole” she had previously worked with in Hollywood, although she didn’t reveal the person’s name, the project they worked on together or provide any further details.

Through a spokesman, Sacha Baron Cohen is disputing characterizations by actress Rebel Wilson that he behaved like a “massive a**hole” while shooting the Louis Leterrier-directed hard R-rated comedy The Brothers Grimsby. She played the wife of his character Nobby, a soccer hooligan who is enlisted by his secret agent brother (Mark Strong) to thwart a plan to set off two bombs during a football match. The film is full of outrageous comic scenes, and Wilson claimed Baron Cohen pressured her to appear nude and do other unsavory things.
“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

What Do We Know About Dune Prophecy? More than you may think. With the second part of Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel a critical and box office success, it is going to be several years before we see the next feature film in the series, Dune Messiah. Luckily, production on the small-screen prequel /spin-off was concurrent with Dune: Part Two which means before the end of the year we are going to return to the fictional realms of Arrakis, Geidi Prime, and more via Max.
While not much in the way of footage has made its way online, there have been quite a few reveals about Dune Prophecy, so let’s jump in and discuss.
Denis Villeneuve is not directing any episodes

On the movie screen, Jennifer Lopez is known for being a romantic comedy queen in films like "Maid in Manhattan," "Monster-in-Law," and "Marry Me." However, on Netflix, she appears to be pursuing a wholly different crown and going after action movie and genre glory. Sure, Lopez has made her share of genre thrillers, especially early in her career: "Money Train," "Anaconda," "U Turn," and "Out of Sight," most notably. Yet it's her turn in 2023's "The Mother" that marked her debut as a fully-fledged action star and now she's following that up with a lead performance in a big-budget sci-fi shoot 'em up, if the new trailer for Netflix's "Atlas" is any indication.
As a co-producer as well as star of "Atlas," Lopez has put together a pretty promising team to bring her next Netflix-distributed action venture to life. Alongside co-stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, and Mark Strong, the...

Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen TV show earns praise with an exciting expansion of memorable characters – opening the door for some of his other movies to get the television treatment. If a RocknRolla streaming show were made, it could fill a void for viewers who want to see more mob shows.

So, the Oscars have been and gone and there were few surprises in the acting categories. Cillian Murphy won Best Actor for “Oppenheimer” while Best Actress went to Emma Stone (“Poor Things”). Best Supporting Actor was taken home by Robert Downey Jr. (“Oppenheimer”) and Da’Vine Joy Randolph claimed Best Supporting Actress for “The Holdovers.” But let’s not spend too much time looking back. Let’s look forward. With that in mind, what have these four acting winners got coming up next?
Murphy won his first Oscar for portraying J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan‘s biopic. His next project is “Small Things Like These,” which just premiered to great acclaim at Berlinale. Hector Hammond's grotesque transformation in "Green Lantern" lacked depth, making him one of the worst DC movie villains. Steppenwolf in "Justice League" was a generic, bland, CGI villain with no defining moments, disappointing fans. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze in "Batman & Robin" was all puns, no substance, making him unimposing and cheesy.
The movies adapted from the characters of the DC Universe have a long and storied history, and in that time have featured some truly terrible villains. The pages of DC Comics have introduced some of the most iconic heroes of all time, with the foremost among them being adapted to the screen since the early days of cinema. From these early forays into live-action media up to the movies of the Dceu, one thing that every movie hero needs is a villain to fight against. Every superhero movie has an antagonist, although some are far better than others.

The focus of the movie The Catcher Was A Spy, Moe Berg, played baseball for 15 years before joining the war effort after Pearl Harbor. As a spy for the Oss, Berg was crucial in targeting Germany's scientific potential. Berg's spy mission included convincing scientists to defect, and he nearly assassinated Werner Heisenberg.
Released in 2018, The Catcher Was A Spy is based on the true story of how one of baseball's most intellectual players became a spy for the United States during the events of World War II. Tom Hardy's performance in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" showcased his potential as a vulnerable yet duty-driven James Bond successor. Hardy's role as Ricki Tarr in the spy thriller highlighted his ability to bring both sympathy and physicality to the iconic character. While Hardy's portrayal in the 2011 film hinted at his potential as Bond, his recent bombastic roles may have shifted expectations for the role.
Tom Hardy has long been considered one of the front-runners to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, with an acclaimed 13-year-old thriller providing the perfect audition for his role as the iconic agent. Although 46-year-old Hardy has been a consistent fan favorite to assume the 007 mantle, it's also felt that he may be too old to take on the part. However, while there's definitely some validity to this argument, early projects in Hardy's acting career highlight what the London-born star could bring to the table.

Outstanding action movies can be enjoyed over and over again if they combine thrilling action sequences with a compelling story. Big-name action stars and humor can enhance the appeal of an action movie, but it ultimately relies on delivering high-stakes thrills. The best action movies retain their allure even after the surprises of the plot have been revealed, allowing for timeless enjoyment.
Action movies are usually great for multiple rewatches, but some hold up better than others. The action genre trades in fights, chases, and big stunts. If they are done well, none of these should lose their appeal after the first watch, so outstanding action movies can be enjoyed over and over again. However, even if a movie has great fight choreography and thrilling stunts, it also needs a compelling story to create a sense of jeopardy.

Non-mcu superhero movies often have post-credit scenes that fall flat, lacking execution or follow-up from studios. Shazam's post-credit scene with the evil caterpillar Mister Mind was bizarre and didn't go anywhere in the Dceu timeline. The Flash's post-credit scene with Aquaman was confusing and didn't build hype for his impending sequel or answer audience questions about the multiverse.
The MCU popularized the post-credit scenes trend, and many superhero movies have embarrassed themselves by trying to follow the same formula. Audiences were stunned during the post-credits of Iron Man when Nick Fury appeared, telling Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative. Since then, MCU films almost always have mid-credit and post-credit scenes that tease future films, and typically cause viewers to rave about them online.
This trend found its way to other superhero franchises, as they wanted to generate the same level of excitement that the MCU did. DC films and...

Argylle has launched in cinemas to a mixed response, with critics suggesting the film does not live up to its potential while audiences have reacted favorably to the picture. Although the box office will ultimately be the true sign of how well the film performs, there are plenty of other incredible and hilarious comedy spy movies currently available to watch, that serve as great preparation pieces or alternatives to the blockbuster film.
