- Cynthia Strother was the oldest of the Bell Sisters (the act used their mother's maiden name), a singing group in the early 1950s. Cynthia and her sister, Kay, had several radio and jukebox hits for RCA, their most popular being "Bermuda" (which Cynthia wrote) and which reached #7 on the Billboard charts in early 1952. "Bermuda" sold over one million copies. The Bell Sisters also reached #10 with "Wheel of Fortune," #19 with "Hambone" (recorded with Phil Harris) and #26 with "Rutza Rutza." The Bell Sisters appeared around the country live and on radio and television with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra.
