A new episode of the Revisited video series has just made its way online, and with this one we’re celebrating the birthday of the late, great director Tobe Hooper by looking at one of his more underrated horror films: the 2004 release Toolbox Murders (watch it Here)! You can hear all about it in the embed above.
Toolbox Murders is technically a remake of the 1978 film The Toolbox Murders, but it’s very different from the source material. Written by Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch, this one has the following synopsis: Young couple Steve and Nell move into a once fashionable, but now decaying, apartment block in Los Angeles, and soon realise that a number of young female residents have met unusually violent deaths. Before long, Nell makes some disturbing discoveries about the building’s manager and her fellow tenants.
The film stars Angela Bettis, Brent Roam, Marco Rodríguez, Rance Howard,...

Take four outrageously good looking guys and gals, a fifth guy with some sort of life challenging disease… Move them into a new out of the way house with a secret history, not to far from an institution; have them desecrate and destroy what look to be supernatural symbols boarding up the windows and you have Bornless Ones. Oh and there’s also scary possession, craziness and a fair bit of really well done gore. Seriously well done gore!
Now that’s not to say that Bornless Ones lacks originality in any way because it really does not. Ok, we may have seen the creepy house in the middle of nowhere that scares the crap out of its occupants before,...

2025 – the Shuttle has been relegated to glorified taxi. On a routine mission shuttle Atlantis encounters bursts of light shutting down its instrumentation leaving it adrift in space with Rookie Astronaut Travis Black. The rest of the crew find themselves in the middle of a barren, desert wasteland. Crewmembers begin dying in bizarre ways. Travis comes to realize that he has been chosen to compete in some sort of galactic chess game with an Alien entity.
Now, I don’t want to give reviews based on the quality of special effects. Not every film studio has as much money as the big blockbusters so you know they are going to have to go for slightly less impressive graphics. Unfortunately, if...

"What's your dream? Owning whores?" And thus, there was Showgirls 2: Penny’s from Heaven. Billed as a parody sequel to Paul Verhoeven's hilarious and sleazy 1995 film starring Elizabeth Berkley as a stripper turned Vegas dancer (and part-time epileptic dolphin — Nsfw), part deux focuses on Rena Riffel's character from the first film, Penny (in case that glorious title didn't give it away). She also wrote, produced and directed the movie, casting several actors from the original film in the same roles (Dewey Weber/Jeff, Greg Travis/Phil, Glenn Plummer/James). Don't expect the same Showgirls, though — as this preview on the Dissolve confirms. The film had a limited theatrical release, but it's essentially a...

A full trailer for the film is sure to bring a tear to your eye out of disgust, fear, or simply from laughter.
