Blue Bloods stars Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan are saying a sad farewell to the CBS drama series. In an appearance Tuesday on The Drew Barrymore Show, Wahlberg and Moynahan shared a clip from the 14th and final season, which is currently airing, that features the Reagans at their weekly Sunday dinner.
Barrymore asked the two how they’re feeling as the end approaches. “I think everybody’s really upset and sad, but also happy and satiated?,” she questioned.
“More upset and sad,” Wahlberg said.
Responding to co-host Ross Mathews when asked what it feels like saying goodbye to the characters, Moynahan explained, “I think it’s more saying goodbye to the people behind the characters. We’ve created such a family on set with each other and the crew — most of the crew’s been with us for 14 years, so we’ve been through a lot of weddings, births,...

The Toronto International Film Festival has a well-deserved reputation for being a film industry event that gives rise to an incredible number of notable production deals. With that in mind, this year has so far seemed somewhat quieter than usual – and this has led to speculation in some quarters about the stability of the industry as a whole. But then, in came legendary writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson with his untitled next project, sparking an impressive bidding war that was ultimately won by Focus Features.
Seeing off competition from Fox Searchlight, Focus has secured the worldwide rights to the film, and will supply its entire budget of $35 million. Co-producing, along with Anderson, will be the equally legendary Megan Ellison of Annapurna Pictures – a long-time champion of independent filmmaking. The deal was undoubtedly helped to fruition by the fact that the movie will see Paul Thomas Anderson reunite with his Academy Award...

Focus Features has acquired worldwide rights to Paul Thomas Anderson’s next project, which will see the auteur reunite with his There Will Be Blood leading man Daniel Day-Lewis.
It is understood Focus beat out Fox Searchlight and others and paid around $35m for a project that with soft money could see the budget rise to around $40m.
News of the stunning deal emerged on the first day of Toronto and marks another notable pre-buy in an environment where distributors have shown themselves to be willing to invest early in promising material with A-list attachments.
It is a big statement from Focus since the studio was reconfigured as a prestige label under the leadership team of chairman Peter Kujawski, president Robert Walak and COO Abhijay Prakash.

It was earlier this summer when we got the most tantalizing film news of the year thus far: Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis are planning a second collaboration, one set in the 1950s fashion industry. At that time, we weren’t sure when exactly we might be able to see it — just that Anderson was “meeting young actresses of Eastern European descent to cast supporting roles” — but now we finally have word, and it’s thankfully sooner than expected.
According to Deadline, Focus Features beat out Fox Searchlight for the worldwide rights for the project and they’ll also finance the $35 million budget, with producing help once again from Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and JoAnne Sellar at Ghoulardi Film Company. The enticing news is that production will begin early next year and we’ll see it arrive by late 2017. The trade reports the drama is actually set in London,...

Dangerous byproducts of car-accident deaths, plus the police commissioner's visit to a museum, meant another active day for the Reagans.
"Insult to Injury," Friday's (March 7) episode of CBS' "Blue Bloods" -- written by co-executive producer Daniel Truly, from a story by him and series script coordinator Andrew Raab -- made Frank (Tom Selleck) a chaperone for grandson Sean's (Andrew Terraciano) school field trip. The trek's main guide, Joyce Carpenter (guest star Annie Wersching), quickly proved herself something of a control freak.
"This isn't my first rodeo," she briskly informed Frank. "You're just to follow my lead." Clearly, she did not know Frank Reagan.
What looked to be a day of paperwork for Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) became something else when he took a call meant for a detective who had passed away. The distressed caller, named Jill (guest star Bess Rous), angrily told Danny that the NYPD and the justice system had failed her.

Thanksgiving is coming for the Reagan family, too -- but if their anticipation of the holiday wasn't tempered by crime concerns, it wouldn't be "Blue Bloods."
Maria (Marisa Ramirez) had a particularly rough time with family matters in "Bad Blood," Friday's (Nov. 22) episode of the CBS police drama written by co-executive producer Daniel Truly and directed by Robert Harmon, who also has worked with series star Tom Selleck on all but one of the "Jesse Stone" TV movies.
A murder investigation began for Maria and Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) outside a Spanish Harlem bar, but they soon went in to interrogate the very enthusiastic, soccer-watching patrons. They came up empty on suspects, until a security tape revealed someone Maria recognized (guest star Kirk Acevedo, "Oz") .
Danny and Maria went to find the man, nicknamed "Tic-Tac" -- and while chasing him, Maria made a side run at him, sending him through a store's glass door.

The personal and the professional have a way of merging for the Reagans of "Blue Bloods."
Such was the case again in "Lost and Found," Friday's (Oct. 25) episode of the CBS police drama written by co-executive producer Daniel Truly. Frank (Tom Selleck) was alarmed to learn Father Markhum (Frank Wood, "The Newsroom"), the NYPD's chaplain, had been stopped for driving while intoxicated ... "the fourth time in two months," police chief Dino (John Ventimiglia) revealed.
The clergyman had rear-ended another car, and Frank worried that intervening would appear to be favored treatment -- something the arresting officer already had furnished by letting the priest sleep off his condition. And Frank realized such handling was "the reason I never heard about the other three Dwi's."
Later, Frank entered a confessional to talk to the chaplain, and told him to turn himself in: "Even priests do penance, Jerry."

Little Man Porter showed up a little earlier than scheduled in this week’s Revenge, but fortunately he arrived after his mom’s impromptu, stripper-filled baby shower. Also, given these preview pics, I was prepared for another all-out Jack breakdown – little did I know, we’d also see some waterworks from Nolan and I-have-no-tear-ducts Emily. But whose big emotional moment resonated the most? Read on as we review the major developments in “Intuition.”
Kara In Control | At the beginning of the episode, Emily confronts Aiden about visiting her mom, but he makes it seem like the detective alias he used...

It is easy to label Daniel Plainview, the oil man at the center of Paul Thomas Anderson’s American epic There Will Be Blood, as a villain. As he scowls, grumbles, glares, and slinks his way through the picture, his bursts of outrage and violence, and his single-minded obsession with greed may paint him outwardly as a scoundrel through and through. But looking closer at this man, played by Daniel Day Lewis in one of the all time great film roles, he is not the villain here. In fact, if I were forced to label, I would have to say Plainview is the protagonist of the story, an antihero so corrupted by greed and power that he loses sight of himself and his obsessions drive him to solitary madness. Of course, every protagonist needs an antagonist, and I think there is a clear answer as to who that is in the film.
