- Ernestine Wade was born on August 7, 1906 in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. She was an actress, known for The Amos 'n Andy Show (1951), The Guns of Fort Petticoat (1957) and Playhouse 90 (1956). She died on April 15, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
- Took vocal lessons as a child and sang professionally until the age of thirteen, as well as playing the organ. She first did secretarial work in Hollywood and only broke into movies after doing voice-over work on Disney's Song of the South (1946).
- Famous old-time radio performer, especially for role of Sapphire Stevens, wife of the "Kingfish" on "Amos N Andy" Show. She continued the role on TV in The Amos 'n Andy Show (1951) Sitcom along with several other actors from the radio show.
- She claimed that she was able to get additional radio work due to her ability to let loose with a blood-curdling scream.
