While at the University of Georgia he won the 1982 Heisman Memorial
Trophy Award for Outstanding College Football Player of the United
States.
Holds the all-time professional football record for rushing yards
gained in a season, gaining 2,411 yards in 1985 with the USFL's New
Jersey Generals.
Led the University of Georgia to an undefeated season and the national
championship in 1980 and was the MVP in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, rushing
for 150 yards on 36 carries and scoring two touchdowns in a 17-10 win
over Notre Dame. Walker played almost the entire game with a separated
left shoulder.
Led NFL in total yards from scrimmage in 1987 with 1,606, 891 yards
rushing, 715 yards receiving.
