New Idea, the women’s magazine published by Pacific Magazines, has launched a new brand campaign and undergone a design refresh.
Taglined, ‘It starts with a New Idea’ the campaign marks the magazine’s 110th birthday.
It features a 24-page guide to landmark Australian moments from the past 110 years, and a look at New Idea’s ads over the years.
Narelle Riley, marketing director, New Idea, said in a press release: “We know the brand is strong, well-established and widely recognised – with a copy of New Idea sold every two seconds. We just wanted to reinvigorate its position in women’s lives. Celebrity chef Manu Feildel is fronting a charity campaign for Plan to raise awareness for starving children in West Africa.
Plan worked with Feildel as well as New Idea editor Kim Wilson, Melbourne film-maker Chris Phillips and photographer Igor Sapina to travel to Niger to report on the crisis and what Australians can do to help.
Coinciding with the launch of the website plan.org.au/stopthehunger, which will include photos and video of the trip, this week’s New Idea features Wilson’s three-page story on the trip.
Feildel will appear on Seven’s Sunrise tomorrow to bring added awareness to the campaign, which was devised by Visual Jazz.
Plan is caring for 12,000 refugees, the majority of which are women and children who have fled Mali into Niger, already one of the world’s least developed nations in the world where half the population is under 15 years old.

Melbourne, April 29: Tania Zaetta who has acted in Bollywood films like 'Bunty aur Babli' and 'Salaam Namaste,' did a nude spread for a gossip magazine last week that was barely noticed.
The 42-year-old Australian actress was splattered across three pages of New Idea in her birthday suit, but not many people were aware of it, the Daily Telegraph reported.
And unfortunately the magazine's editor, Kim Wilson, didn't feel moved enough to put Zaetta on the cover for her brave shoot.
The reality star even failed to rate a cover line,.
