His composition "Lean On Me" was adopted as a hymn by the
Unitarian-Universalist Association and appears in their supplemental
hymnal "Singing the Journey" (Hymn # 1021).
Was twenty-seven when he decided to pursue a career in music.
Had a stuttering problem whilst growing up.
Despite his wide accolade of songs, he had only been in the music business for 14 years (1971 - 1985).
Retired from the music industry for good in 1985.
Released his first album "Just As I Am" at only 33.
He is buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
