The Beverly Hills Film, TV & New Media Festival line-up of star-studded red carpet premieres, panels and honorary award recipients have been announced by Festival Director Donna Spangler. The Opening Night Honorary Awards Ceremony will take place Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Roosevelt Hotel (7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood) benefiting The Finaza Foundation. Michael Huffington, politician, philanthropist, businessman, and over all Big Deal is also a fantastic actor. In his debut role in my comedy Father vs Son, which just won the Film Critic's Society Award for Best Premiere at the Houston International Film Festival, Mr. Huffington exudes a powerful presence and stoic charm never before seen on film. New York -- Josh Dean and Heather Stephens are set for battle in Joe Ballarini's indie comedy "Father vs. Son."
The film follows a newly divorced father (Paul Wolff) who moves in with his son (Dean) and joins him on the dating circuit. One might say chaos ensues.
Ballarini and star Wolff co-wrote the film and are executive producing. The helmer is best known as a screenwriter, penning Lionsgate's recent zombie comedy "Dance of the Dead" and adapting the comic series "Maintenance" for McG at Warners.
Michael Huffington and Brian James Crewe are producing, and Jon Wolff is serving as co-executive producer. Production is under way in Los Angeles.

Shooting has begun in La on an indie comedy called Father Vs Son, which sounds like it might – might – have breakout potential.The movie, directed by Joe Ballarini from a script he co-wrote with the movie’s star, Paul Wolff, is about a newly divorced dad (Wolff) who moves in with his son (Josh Dean) and proceeds to hit the dating scene with him, much to the lad’s chagrin.Heather Stephens has also joined the cast of a movie that could well turn up at Sundance in 2010.
