Quantum Leap Episode 17
Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) lands this week on an international luxury airliner and in the body of a rookie stewardess neatly coiffed and tucked under a pill-box hat. Ben’s service-with-a-smile includes offering potent drinks, slicing rare beef and figuring out how to save all the passengers from the crash that takes all their lives in the past. The cause of the plane crash was unknown, so it’s up to Ben to figure out why the plane went down and how to prevent that from happening (again).
This episode jives with some of the best that Quantum Leap offered this season with its twists and turns, whodunits and MacGyver strategies, such as “O Ye of Little Faith,” “Fellow Travelers,” “Leap, Die, Repeat” and “S.O.S.” In fact, Ben is nothing if not an unconventional problem solver, and we see that...

Quantum Leap Episode 13
Quantum Leap episode 13 “Family Style” is groundbreaking for the revival and the original in two ways. First, Deborah Pratt, head writer of the original and current executive producer, finally gets a chance to direct an episode!
As the new Quantum Leap story arc develops, Pratt provides continuity between old and new in her day-to-day involvement with the sequel series. In December 2022, NBC greenlit a second season for Quantum Leap, and Pratt is already hands-on with filming the second season’s premiere and meeting about subsequent episodes. While Pratt is undoubtedly the expert in preventing contradictions between the new show and the old, she also supports going beyond canon through the exploration and creation of new ideas:
“I want Martin [Gero], Dean [Georgaris] and the writers to have the freedom to explore all the history of Quantum Leap,” Pratt told Upi. “I want them to create new canon.

Quantum Leap Episode 5
Leaping through spacetime is not solely the domain of quantum physicists Ben Song (Raymond Lee) and Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula). In this week’s installment of Quantum Leap, episode five “Salvation or Bust,” an unknown leaper appears just as Ben and Addison (Caitlin Bassett) are celebrating their success at putting things right in Salvation, a diverse Old Western town built for outcasts circa 1879.
The revelation that there are other leapers doesn’t require any suspension of disbelief since “other leapers,” specifically evil ones, were a part of the Quantum Leap universe thirty years ago when Sam was bounding through history. In fact, many humans today experience a form of quantum leaping regularly when driving their cars with the help of the Global Positioning System (Gps). Gps engineers tally the spacetime continuum in relation to a satellite’s orbital speed and position...

NBC’s Quantum Leap season one episode one does exactly what it needs to do. It introduces the new quantum leaper – Dr. Ben Song played by Raymond Lee (Kevin Can F**k Himself) – while paying respect to the original series that premiered in 1989 and ran for five seasons. It’s an updated sequel that retains much of what made the original series with Scott Bakula so entertaining. There’s the science stuff, of course, but there’s also a healthy mix of heart and humor.
2022’s Quantum Leap is a continuation of the original show and includes multiple references to Dr. Sam Beckett’s (Bakula) disappearance after stepping into the Quantum Leap Accelerator in 1995. Since then, the program’s been revived by the government with a new team...

“Quantum Leap” has entered the “Peak TV” era of television, but while the new NBC reboot gets off to a shaky start, there’s reason to believe this new version is still worthwhile.
Airing from 1989 to 1993, NBC’s original “Quantum Leap,” starred Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a scientist who has invented time travel and ends up getting trapped in time as a result of it. Sam’s particular brand of time traveling involved “leaping” into the bodies of various people through time and having to right certain wrongs throughout history before he could leap into the next. During Sam’s adventures, he would be aided by Al (Dean Stockwell), a colleague who provided him with certain answers—courtesy of Ziggy, the Project Quantum Leap supercomputer—about the people Sam would be inhabiting and helping.
It was a high-concept series that provided a lot of questions, but given the era of television,...

Plot: It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project in hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.
Review: The original Quantum Leap aired from 1989 to 1993 and ushered in a unique blend of television series that combined science-fiction, hopeful stories about fate and destiny, and a sense of humor that catapulted Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell to celebrity. After thirty years, Quantum Leap is back for a reboot that serves as the sixth season of the series and an all-new take on the formula. With direct references to Bakula and his exploits traveling through time in the guise of many different people, the new Quantum Leap feels incredibly familiar and safe while still mining nostalgia for TV shows of a bygone era.

Even though a new crop of characters anchor the story — except for Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson), who appeared in the Og series in the Season 3 episode “The Leap Home, Part 2 (Vietnam)” — the show is a continuation rather than a full reboot. For showrunner Martin Gero, the decision to add to the story instead of redoing everything was a no brainer.

Even since the Quantum Leap reboot was first announced, there’s been one question on the minds of fans… would Scott Bakula return as Sam Beckett? Unfortunately, it seems that the answer to that question is no. Scott Bakula took to Instagram to set the rumours to rest about his involvement in the new Quantum Leap series.

Whitechapel season two part two may have been the best episode of the show to date. It was certainly the creepiest! Within the first few minutes we learnt that last week’s prime suspect Marcus Salter was neither a supernatural fiend nor a killer. Puzzled as to the identity of the real killer, Chandler attempted to take his mind off the case by spending some time at a pub quiz. He abruptly left when the inane chatter of his team mates inspired him to resume his investigation. The negotiations go awry when the local police intervene and a fire fight erupts. Panicked, the hostage takers flea to a tour bus and quickly realize that their fellow passengers can be used as hostages. Precise air...

Episode two of BBC One’s Prisoners’ Wives began with a through the keyhole style tour of the house that crime built. Francesca (Polly Walker) had one last session on her exercise bike before the bailiffs showed up and her world began to fall apart. Even at her lowest ebb, I wouldn’t exactly describe Francesca as a sympathetic character but she has definitely lost her hard edge and become a tad more vulnerable. We also learnt that her husband Paul (Iain Glen) has jealousy issues which could become problematic now that his wife is secretly dating a foreign co-worker.
As was the case in the first episode of Prisoners’ Wives, part two mostly focused on Francesca and Gemma (Emma Rigby...

Call the Midwife. BBC

The first three episodes of the BBC One drama Call the Midwife featured an interesting mix of frivolity and drama. Episode four was much darker. Granted, we did have a few minutes of silliness with the nuns and nurses teasing Chummy and Jenny Lee about dating but within a few minutes we had moved onto much more harrowing storylines involving the death of a pregnant woman and the kidnapping of a new born baby. Vanessa Redgrave’s narration has seemed unnecessary thus far but tonight her voice added a kind of depth to the story that it wouldn’t have had if it had been told through the eyes of the young Jenny Lee.

Globe Trekker host Ian Wright is the funniest and perhaps best loved travel presenter on British TV. The veteran traveler’s latest show Invite Mr Wright is being broadcast by the Discovery Channel and TLC throughout much of the world. I recently had the opportunity to catch up with Ian and I asked him about his new show and his love of travel.
When did you first get the travel bug?
“I think most people get the bug as a kid but it is just a matter of whether you do anything about it when you become an adult. I used to look at pictures of places like Easter Island and the pyramids that would get the juices...

The British have always been great explorers. Perhaps it is because we inherited the genes of the Romans, Saxons, Normans and the many other invaders whose own curiosity once lead them to theses shores. Unsurprisingly, several modern day explorers and outdoor adventurers have made their way onto British TV screens. Whether you enjoy fishing, climbing or Arctic adventures there can be no doubt that the following folks are the 10 best British TV adventurers.
Jeremy Wade. Anyway who has to face dangers ranging from man-eating crocodiles to heavily armed fugitives in lawless parts of Africa is something of an “adventurer.” However, for Jeremy Wade these dangers are mere distractions as he is mainly focused on hazards such as electric eels, bull sharks and various types of fish...

British actor Robert Pattinson says he was obsessed with English former professional footballer Ian Wright. Talking to Total Film, the 22-year-old hunk admits that he used to love the 45-year-old striker. "I really liked Ian Wright (the footballer) when I was younger," he says. "I used to always try and get the double of his sticker for my sticker album."
About his upcoming flick "The Twilight Saga's New Moon", which is set to be released in U.S. theaters on November 20, the young star thinks "Twilight"'s fans are going to love the sequel. "Edward and Bella's reunion in New Moon is good. It's different from the book so I think people will be happy," he states.
